Would be nice to go on a 10-0 run to start the 2nd half.
Evans is going to come down the right side of the lane every time. We need to at least put a traffic cone in that space.
Evans is 3 for 12.
Ok, it was Barkley so not verified, but I think Walton's done a pretty good job on him so far.
Bunch of Kobe assists though. His penetration is a big reason they're getting 60% of their misses.
The guy's a good player, no question.
and put Wagner back in at a key moment. He seemed to spark the comeback, and managed to avoid a third foul.
Gutsy call by JB, and good on Wagner.
Pun intended.
Wagner logged a total of 6 minutes in the first half. Would love to see him on the court a LOT in the second half. And yeah, not having three fouls right now helps a ton in that regard.
That was a great move on a enormous gamble that paid off.
Glacial defense...
Donnal kind of is not very good.
Dude is the silent assassin.
Wagner or Donnal are too slow to stop that. It's good that Wilson has no fouls yet, which is sort of a miracle considering all the inside defending he's been doing.
What are OSU's stats from three?
2-for-8, I think...
it's all scoring from inside penetration, they haven't even tried to kick out from it. They just score.
We need to trade their 2's for our 3's. But we will need to play more inside-out to do it. They are hugging us on the perimeter.
Need more Walton drives in the paint and some post feeds to DJ and Wagner. They can back them down in the post all day, Purdue-style.
The bench is big factor in a game like this. Fouls and pace affect us much more than them. We have to do a good job of slowing things down in the second half. I'm pleasantly surprised that we have the lead so far given how things have gone in the first half. Solomon should have fouled out damn near three times already.
2-3 Robinson threes in the second half with Wagner playing his game and we will start forcing them to take bad shots!
into the paint. They had too many easy baskets. Someone has to step up and block them off before they get going. Also, Michigan has to crash the boards in the 2nd half. Way too many 2nd chances for the Okies.
Is getting the ball out of Evans hands early and often. The rest of Okie State is Nebraska level scary and no other player on their team has created their own shot.
do you pick up Evans full court to try and keep it out of his hands? Stick MAAR on him on the inbounds?
it's no wonder they get tons of O rebs. As the D rotates he's just throwing to the rim. It's more of a pass off the glass as they all crash through gaps. I think the answer is a quicker D reb crash from interior players and whoever is guarding Evans. As the big rotates from the pick, Walton needs to beat Solomon to the charge circle and force Solomon to go through or reach. You can't leave guys on the perimeter by trying to help from the outside or you risk their inside-outside game heating up.
Underwood wants better than 60% of his misses? Jeez.
Soloman lays a heavy screen. Have to think we're not calling them out very well.
MAAR wanted to feed Wilson, but they shut it off, so he drove to the middle, and Walton spotted up beautifully.
This is going to be a stressful nail biter to the very end.
Wish we could get some stops.
They can't miss anything.
He's so important for us on defense.
His length allows him to just stand there and disrupt things with his long arms. Donnal and even Wagner have to jump.
Way out of sync.
Same thing as the first half when it triggered their run, bunch of one on one offense leading to run outs.
shit
