Someone on scout is claiming OSU fans claimed 5000 Signing of the Stars tickets
Aside from this being one of the saddest things I've ever read the cooler poopers doing, does anyone know if this is true or if the AD is aware? I don't really understand the idea of tickets in the first place, but this sounds like a problem especially if there are still Michigan fans out there who want to attend but now can't.
I now have photo proof that Buckeyes are getting tickets to Signing of the Stars. One of them posted a screen shot of their ticket order for 208 bragging about it and others have done it as well for a total of close to 5000, trying to make the event empty. Is there anyone on here I could send the proof to that could look into this matter?

1) Who's the "us" who robo-votes?
2) If OSU fans are hogging tickets to the UM event in order to make the venue look empty--which is what the OP said--then fewer UM fans who want to attend the UM event can be there. How is that even remotely analogous to your scene?

Seriously? How? That's the kind of question where if you have to ask... bless your heart.

Thats 'bless your heart' in a southern sort of way, right?

Deeply southern.

It may be time to lay off the peyote.

How...did that at all make sense in your head?
What's different? Well for one, thats UM fans supporting their players instead of worrying about another team's recruits.

Was ordering tickets actually set up in a way that would allow an individual to order 208 tickets?
January 21st, 2017 at 5:32 PM ^
Why does this event even need tickets? It's like a pep rally. Let whoever wants to come in come in.

Taken care of now. That was easy. The idiots that posted the exact numbers of tickets they puchased were easy to cancel the barcodes and reissue to those that requested tickets.

I received an e-mail from the Athletic Department yesterday promoting tickets for Signing of the Starts. When I clicked on the link today, it stated the tickets were sold out. Hope they didn't go to OSU.

Thank you.

Are they only filling one side of the arena? Those numbers would total only about half the capacity of Crisler. Remaining offered to students or are they included in the general public number?

Not with that kind of attitude it won't.
Actually most people don't have that kind of attitude, so it could. I mean... You get to see like 30 big time celebrities at one event. Where else does that happen? I would go if I lived anywhere near Ann Arbor.

Capacity of Crisler is 12,707 so I don't think anyone is expecting 20,000.

I'd be cracking up if we did something similar to MSU or OSU. I doubt this is true, but it's kinda funny

Which is exactly why you don't show up when you buy the ticket.
January 21st, 2017 at 1:33 PM ^
Oh, yeah, duh. Other posts were speculating on OSU fans showing up and being themselves/dicks so I apparently had moved on to that as the idea.

No I live in Ohio and lived in Columbus on two different occasions for work. As a UM fan, calling it a strip mall is being too generous. More like a strip joint. You go there because it seems like a good idea at the time, but once you see your surroundings you realize how nasty it is.
January 21st, 2017 at 2:28 PM ^
Strip joint is probably the better metaphor for living in Columbus (especially with all of the women sporting bad ombre), but I'm sticking to strip mall because of the absurd preponderence of chain restaurants.
I have friends who live there and have spent too much time in the city limits because of it. Don't let them send you back!

Gary verbally commited to us during the SOTS, but hadn't faxed in the LOI or whatever its called.
So Coach Harbaugh couldn't talk about it because fax hadn't been received yet. So that would have been a big splash if Coach could've spoken about the #1 recruit in the country committing to us, but just a couple minutes late with the fax, iirc.

Harbaugh came out and said he heard we got some good news and left it at that while those in the crowd that knew cheered

Again, iirc, but the crowd watched his ESPN announcement on their mobil devices during the SOTS. It was at the end but during. Coach couldn't talk about it cuz Gary went back to his HS to fax letter. NCAA rules prohibites coaches from talking about recruits or some shit like that.
I guess it doesn't much matter at this point.
