Elevenwarriors reports linked above. Rumors OSU is going to lose Co-DC Luke Fickell to Cincinnati, who's on our schedule next year, and Co-OC Ed Warriner to Western Kentucky. Will be interesting to see who they get as replacements.

C'mon, you should know your own history better than that.

Fesler went 2-6-1 in 1947, and Woody went 3-5-1 and 4-5 in '59 and '66 respectively. And all three OSU squads lost to Michigan.

This is the same sort of historical revisionism as saying the 2008 Michigan team was the worst in our history. Our 1934 team was much, much worse by every measure.

Schiano would've been a better hire for Cinci, IMO

Make Fickell thinks if he can have moderate success there he can parlay that job into the MSU job when Dantonaia retires. Instantly becoming Lark Feckul.

Deantonio was brought in to be the first (since Sid Gilman) to recruit Ohio hard (which he did) ..... but De'anthoney had a better carrot to dangle before recruits with the Big East and BCS ticket.... something that is now gone..... I doubt Fickle is able to bring back UCs success from a decade ago. The reality is that it's back to the old UC of Power Basketball and mediocre football. UC just sat around too long before it made a move.....had it got off its butt and renovated Nippert much much much sooner it would've been in the Big 12 already. Too late now.

This is a significant blow for OSU. They will replace Fickell with someone competent, but he was an awesome linebackers coach. Great at developing disciplined players and leaders. Has developed great linebackers like Ryan Shazier, Darron Lee, and Raekwon McMillan. Great recruiter as well which hurts. The guy has been incredibley valuable for us, but I'm not sure it is going to work out at UC. He is a great individual but not really an Xs and Os type of guy. Greg Schiano is more responsible for D play calling and scheme. Fickell was dealt a difficult hand when he was interim, but the team still under performed at the end of the day. Both units were weak, but the offense was a disaster. Fickell is going to need to hire a real gem as O Coordinator if he hopes to last. Hope it works out for him, but I think there were better candidates.

Might sting them a little bit, but Meyer will bring in someone to replace them. With the shitload of talent he's bringing in they'll be just fine.

Meyer is the straw that stirs the drink down there.

Urban has been employing co-coordinators since his Florida days. IIRC, Urban hated taking a step back every time he lost a coordinator, and since it was happening pretty much every year, he decided to do something about it. Urban hoped that with 2 co-coordinators per side, there would be some continuity if 1 of them happened to leave for a HC position.

Plus, Urban asks that every asst. coach he hires commits to staying for at least 2 seasons, and he'll make sure to pull as many strings as he can to land them a HC position after year 2. The sole expection to the 2 year rule so far seems to be Greg Schiano who was already a successful CFB coach at Rutgers, and he doesn't really need help from Urban to find a position.

would be surprising. But Merringer to me isnt surprising personally I believe that Urban wants Merringer to leave for a head coaching gig and for him to take his other OC and O-Line coach with him so he can improve his staff and incorperate a new system to me it would be a Art Briles/Louisville type of Offensive. giving how successful it was at Baylor during the height of the Briles regim and what we have seen from Louisville this season plus its a system that would fit his QB's and WR's that he has right now and in the future.

... Let me guess:

You had seven shots of Jameson's, laced your Yellow-Naped Amazon parrot's seed with cocaine, then dictated this post to your parrot friend, then had him repeat it near your computer, which transcribed it using voice recognition software.  Then, cut, paste, post.

Close?

going to coach?  Like 5 to 7?

Going 7-0 in that span v MSU would be soo nice.

Harbaugh trolled back pretty well building the trophy case for the Brown Jug and Paul Bunyan in Schembechler Hall.  I think he has the same view 8-)
