Good decision!

My dad took me when I was 1 and now I'm an alum. It will always makes for a great story for you kid. Glad it was a fun experience!

I didn't really know much

I didn't really know much about him until his junior year but I remember he seemed to make every tackle on special teams. I kept saying where is this coming from and why isn't he seeing more playing time. He was always around the ball and he didn't seem to get any credit for it. In hindsight, his first two years were so wasted and it is such a shame. Here is hoping that he has an awesome NFL career to make up for it.

Good article and answers the

Good article and answers the question for now. But he loves football so much, I don't see him being able to get away from it even though he says he wants to right now. I also don't see him going into the booth or being a talking head (even though I think he would be very good at it). It is to far removed from the action.

I think a few years removed from playing he will get back in some capacity and I think coach will probably be his avenue just maybe in the pros, not at Michigan.

I agree with you on not

I agree with you on not wanting other cancers on the back burner but one of the reasons we have come so far in breast cancer research is how much money has been dontated to it. The reason so much money has been donated to Susan G. Komen, etc. is almost everyone has been directly affected by breast cancer. It resonates very highly with a broad audience and I for one want to keep it in the forefront of peoples minds.

I'd personally like to see more wide ranging awareness events for other cancers but I don't want to see it replace breast cancer. I think you can keeping having "pink" while adding other events like burgundy for multiple myeloma, grey for brain cancer, etc.

Such bullshit

I know we knew this was

I know we knew this was coming but what was the reason he was trending away?

If I'm gonna eat shitty fast

If I'm gonna eat shitty fast food, might as well be arby's!

Exactly, we put the press on

Exactly, we put the press on and sounds like we were some what in it. I want to be in contention for every number 1 recruit. So far under Harbaugh we are 1 out of 2, not bad results.

That was a terribly written

That was a terribly written article. Answered zero questions and tried to pass blame to Michigan fans reactions. The officiating was terrible in that game, end of story. Did it lose us the game? Maybe, maybe not, but that is as bad as officiating gets.

Well that hurt to read...

I don't blame him one bit.

I don't blame him one bit. Sometimes you need to look out for yourself and this is one of those times.

This is a big get, need to

This is a big get, need to keep adding the OL pieces; Filiaga up next.

That was amazing!

Hello!

Hello!

Def need an upgrade, I come

Def need an upgrade, I come here specifically for my Michigan related news as it is usually the fastest (Twitter beats somethings) and most accurate. You know it's bad when something important happens and MLive provides me the story first because the website is down.

Another point that some people have mentioned is that the website is outdated. I started lurking on the blog about 3 years ago and set up an account last year. I had actually known about the blog longer but was very turned off initially by the layout and the outdated feel. The content here is bar none but you don't realize that if you just visit the site. The OGs have always known about the content and what the blog has to offer, so it is easy to forget that the layout is the first thing a lot of us new guys notice when we first visit the blog.

Emotions!

About how I figured it would

About how I figured it would go, but thought it should have been closer between Watson and Jackson. I also thought Peppers deserved 3rd, over the Oklahoma duo, because of what he brought to the table, but I didn't feel the voters felt the same and obviously they didn't.

That's what happens when you

That's what happens when you are so good no one throws at you and the voters only look at stats. It's a shame.

Why the JUB hate from some of

Why the JUB hate from some of the board?

You mean you hope it doesn't

You mean you hope it doesn't turn into last year where we closed on the consensus #1 recruit???

No?

No?

I saw the title and knew it

I saw the title and knew it was the guy in section 37. He really is that bad. I love that he has the passion for Michigan and wants to show it, but I'd prefer he did it in another way. It's like the old lady in church who is awful but is the only one who volunteers to sing.

Haha valid point

Haha valid point

Man there is a lot of

Man there is a lot of bitching on here. Everybody shut up, the jerseys look good. Any Michigan jersey looks better than any other jersey. The 2 is still a 2 just a different design, you still can tell it's a 2. And to everybody complaining about a basketball player being on a football jersey, you are actually an idiot. Nike was a running company who branched into other realms, same with Adidas/Puma and pretty much all other sports apparel companies. You guys understand what a logo is right? It is the recognizeable mark used to distinguish a product. Jordan's brand uses his iconic dunk as its logo. It is a sports apparel company and is the luxury brand of Nike. So enough complaining. Enjoy being done with Adidas and be happy that we are the only program with one of the premier apparel brands as our supplier. It is a great recruiting tool, a great marketing tool, and just a great concept in general.

Now to be fair, when you are

Now to be fair, when you are giving that amount of money wouldn't it be nice to get some return? I get the, "Oh do it for the kids, you don't need your name on there". But he was gifting $3 million. You want some return for your buck, some lasting power. I have an idea give me the $3 million and I'll change my name to Bernstein Multicultural Center.

How do you forget

How do you forget Swashbucklers and Scalawags???

Exactly it. If you are

Exactly it. If you are tailgating, 3:30 gives you enought time to have a little fun, drink a little beer then go to the game.

If you are driving into town for the game or aren't tailgating, 12:00 is the way to go. A 3:30 start makes for a pretty late night.

I definitely understand where

I definitely understand where you are coming from, "potential to be a stud" is stating the obvious "if he does better then he is good". Well, obviously he will be a stud if he does better than the competition. So, I get why you don't like that.

I think he has had a type of "already proved it" last year. Yes, the Florida game is one game. But over the course of last season you saw the potential. Early in the season he did not make any plays but he beat everyone off the ball. Once he and Rudock were on the same page he was dominant (Florida, Indiana, Minnesota, Northwestern). This domination was on full display for the Florida game.

You are absolutely right there is a huge difference between a 2nd round WR and a top WR. And if Chesson has a season like last year, good with 1-2 great games, then he is a 2nd/3rd round receiver he could even drop to the 4th. But this is a prediction thread and my prediction, based on his progress last year and his sheer athleticism, is that he is a first round draft pick and he has the potential to be the highest drafted Michigan player. He is blazing fast, he is tall, and he moves well in space.

So, my prediction is a gamble. I am gambling that he improves the same as last year, starting from where he finished the year. Yes, that is a stretch but in my unqualified opinion he has an it factor that you see even when the play doesn't happen. It is all right there and once it clicks he will be dominant. This is definitely a homer opinion but I just see it in Chesson.

Lewis, Peppers, Butt,

Lewis, Peppers, Butt, Chesson* all first round, in that order.

*Chesson has the potential to be an absolute stud WR, he has the speed that an NFL WR needs. Think about the beginning of last year, you just saw the ability but didn't see the results. The end of the year was a different story, he dismantled the no. 11 pick in the 2016 draft 1 on 1. If he continues on that trajectory, I say definite first rounder and could (I SAY COULD) be the highest Michigan player drafted.

This MSU radio call is bad..

This MSU radio call is bad.. You can hear the disrespekt in their voice. The color commentator went off on a rant about "one of the things that bothered him about this Michigan team". How they were disrespectful for starting to run off on a pitch in the black that ended up being a ball. And to not get him started about other things about this team. State was just as bad at that last night and the BTN guys called them out for it. Sparty gonna sparty.

Nick Willis is qualified for

Nick Willis is qualified for his fourth Olympics, competing for New Zealand in the 1500m. He already has one silver medal and depending on health he should be in contention for another one.

I think this is the exact

I think this is the exact mindset to have, in my opinion. It allows for change but under the tenants of what keeps the stadium the stadium. But I didn't get that vibe in reading your original post. I felt that it was a more us vs. them, frowning upon change. My bad for interpreting it that way.

Expansion Talk

Did I say we needed to expand currently?

Michigan Stadium is

Michigan Stadium is the greatest place on earth but lets not get this holier than thou mindset going. There are always things that can be improved. Staying stagnant or putting our head in the sand and saying, "we are who we are so we don't need to ever change," is foolish. Does something need to be done currently? Absolutely not. Could an expansion be beneficial in the future? Absolutely. It all needs to be looked at in the future based on demand, recruiting, fan experience and feasiblity. What ever the change (big or small), it will still be Michigan Stadium, it will still be the Big House, and it will still be our favorite place to be in the fall.

Rejoice in that. Treasure what it is *or what it becomes*. It will always be Michigan Stadium.

A win..

is a win, is a win..

I didn't think it was

I didn't think it was that overrated at least from an experience side of things, which I think is most of what makes a stadium trip. They really are disorientingly nice, I thought they were messing with us at first.

Memorial is not the most aesthetically pleasing stadium by any stretch but I think it is the culture and the atmoshere that make Nebraska a must go to venue.

Venues to Visit

My dad, brother and I (all Michigan alum) take a trip each year to an away game, slowing checking off each B1G stadium. Of the ones I've visited Nebraska was by far the best; great fans, awesome environment, good tailgating/bars

Visited

1) Nebraska: As mentioned above, walked into the bar and had beers bought for us from Nebraska fans, thanked us for coming, told us how much they loved Michigan as a traditional football school and being in the B1G. This was the 2012 game where Denard got hurt so not great to be at, but got thanked for coming after the game, received directions on how to get out. Really strange but they were just really nice and excited that Michigan was there. Memorial is an awesome Stadium as well gets quite loud, this was a night game so just added to the experience.

2) Rose Bowl: Feels like the old Big House, went when I was little so didn't take part in the tailgating scene. But just was an awesome experience; Rose Parade then game. Def the number two spot to check off in my opinion.

3) Notre Dame: Again I love the bowl stadium atmosphere. ND has the traditional football legacy, add in the rivalry so there is hate but at the same time a lot of respect which makes for a fun environment to be in. The tailgating scene is probably the best, the parking lot is packed with both Michigan and ND fans. You can alway pop into a Michigan tent and tailgate with them but most of the ND fans are pretty hospitable as well.

4) Penn State: Beaver Stadium is cool, ultra loud. Penn State fans suck but decent tailgating envrionment. Super spread out, so if you have friends on the opposite side of the stadium it is a hike to get to them. Not my favorite but one that you need to check off.

5) Sugar Bowl (Mercedes Benz Superdome*): Superdome is just another pro stadium but you can not beat Burboun Street for a tailgate. Would be number one but it isn't a traditional venue with Michigan in attendance. If Michigan goes back to this bowl, drop everything you are doing and go to it.

6) Indiana: Bloomington is an awesome college town, so go down the night before. Stadium isn't the greatest but its not the largest either so there honestly wasn't a bad seat in it.

7) Northwestern: Tailgating is blah, Stadium is eh but Northwesterns campus is beautiful and it is basically a home game. Def not number one but it is above some of the others.

8) MSU: Turrible, little biased. I haven't been to Spartan Stadium since they remodeled it, man did it use to be awul, Did not like the stadium then and don't see myself liking it now. Sparties gonna sparty so deal with that if you go. Decent tailgate scene but not the best on the list imo.

9) Rutgers: God awful; go just to check it off your list then never go back.

Like to hear peoples thoughts on the stadiums I haven't checked off the list.
