Going for two literally didn't help then at all. In fact, it hurt them because if they don't get it the best they can hope for is overtime instead of winning in regulation. Soooo yeah, Frick them, house that!

Man MSU just would not die in that game.

On the plus side

- no injuries

- a win

- a great game experience for our team to build on...more valuable than another blow out win one could argue.

The fact that it's on the coach for no apparent reason other than vanity makes it delicious.  Totally erased their only hope to pull the game out for no tactical reason.  What a dipshit.

Unfortunately, I think the Rutgers game screwed up people's expectations so I feel the need to say this.  RUTGERS IS REALLY, REALLY BAD AT FOOTBALL.  No other team should be measured by their ineptitude.

Seriously, we're not going to blow out every team and teams will score on us.  This was a rivalry game.  Plus MSU tried to shake things up with their personnel and playcalling.  We did get a little vanilla in the 4th quarter, and I'm not sure why, but we won.  By 2 scores.  Breathe.

Exactly.  They're 2-6.  This was literally the only thing they had left to play for.  And they gave it their all.  Good for them.  They had a lot of help from the Refs and a little help from some watered down play calling but still.

I don't care what they're record is.  Sparty will never be a cupcake game and they won't just lay down and die.

Because if somehow they scored a miracle TD on the onside kick, He would have gone for the win. Bet on it. Thank the lord it didn't come to that. Can you imagine? Nonono. Go Blue.

They were down 7 before the point after try.

There are 3 possible outcomes.

1) Kick the PAT and are down 6.

2) Fail to get points (missed kick or failed 2 point try) and are down 7.

3) 2 point try is returned and they are down 9.

If they were to somehow get another TD they would the PAT as an untimed down. Making it a 6 point gave gives you the best (albeit still extremely small) chance to win.

Yeah, great victory overall.  This was their Super Bowl so I'm happy with  a win no matter what.  Stupid to try to make the score closer when they know lost and that is poetic justice with the -2.  Good luck to them to win out and make a bowl.  Hahaha.

Gonna miss him big time next year. He will need to be a game changer in all three phases if we are going to have a shot in Columbus.

Boy did he save our bacon on that 2 point play at the end of the game. That onside kick was dangerously close to popping right in Corley's hands and he had a free lane right down the sideline.

but did that feel good. Sparty Eats Paste, and Chews Corn. At the same time. I'm gonna stick a split of Champagne in my fridge with Dantonio's name on it. To be opened when he goes the fuck away. The man is a clown of epic dimensions.
