Guys, we're going to playing on grass for the first time this season so OF COURSE the shoes are going to be different. That's a shoe box in the pic. This will be the team's first time wearing Nike/Jordan grass cleats in a game. Calm the F down about UNIFORMZ.

Meanwhile, Bartles & Jaymes would like to thank you for your support.

I have to think it isn't anything near 2011 on what I like to call the "Bumblebee Scale of Uniforms", and I believe I heard that it is just shoes and then perhaps only because we're playing on grass this time.

I really just want to make Spartan fans sad.

Not a chance.  Michigan doesn't need special uniforms to win against Michigan State.  Plus, a shoebox probably means shoes, and I believe they would need alternate shoes to play on grass.  The athletic department won't be doing any skywriting, either, FWIW.

I agree that this is probably some new type of shoe, but this is just a fashion thing.  You don't need different shoes when you go from FieldTurf to grass.  Possibly a different length of cleat (depending on how long the grass is), but that's it.

The road uni's are sharp as they are--no change needed, including shoes. Howeva, cleats are a different matter altogether. Gotta match the surface which can be more complicated than it seems. After McCaffery ran all around and through Iowa in the Rose Bowl some Hawkeye fans actually blamed it on having the wrong cleats.
