All of Our Vanquished Foes Won Yesterday
We've celebrated Colorado's big win yesterday, and their ascension into the rankings for the first time since 2005, I believe. It's also noteworthy that all of our other defeated foes won yesterday - Hawaii over Nevada (38-17), UCF and Jerk Store owner Scott Frost over East Carolina (47-29) and Penn State over Minnesota (29-26).
Colorado is 4-1, UCF is 3-2 and even Hawaii is 2-3. So maybe our non-conference schedule wasn't as bad as everyone thought.

Since UCF was on the winning side of a game, I wonder if they got out hit by East Carolina???

Then it went downhill from there.

The joke was already implied by the comment he responded to. Apparently less people got the original comment than the response. I liked them both.

I got the joke and certainly feel very bad for giving the impression that I didn't. My apologies to everyone. I was, you know, nevermind....

Who's everyone? Our OOC foes were better than probably half of our peers many of whom were playing multiple MAC or equivalent foes. I would point to many of the SEC schools as an example. OSU also had, I think, a more inferior OOC lineup.

SEC actually scheduled tough games this year. Bama-USC, Ole Miss-FSU, LSU-Wiscy, Auburn-Clemson, etc. Our schedule is looking better than expected, but let's not get carried away.

Alabama had Western Kentucky and Kent Statte...do we need to go through the list of the other teams? We also had Colorado which I'm pretty sure would beat a few of those teams you mentioned.

Are we arguing that Hawaii and UCF were good? WKU is not so bad, btw. We played all of ours at home too. Colorado may turn out to be pretty good, but it'll still be a surprise if they're better than those teams I mentioned. From a scheduling perpsective, all of those schools ere trying to schedule one very tough game. It's hard to point at our slate and criticize them.

USC, FSU, and LSU are all worse than UCF.

USC might be the most canny bit of scheduling. For some idiotic reason they seem to start the season ranked but rarely spend the entire season there.
USC might be the biggest preseason rankings whiff of the last 8 years. Remember that year they opened the season ranked 1 ahead of Bama and finished the season somewhere in the 70’s?

USC is Notre Dame West. Lots of legends and past glory, lots of unwarranted hype now.

Colorado looks like they might have a very real shot at winning the Pac-12 South.

Colorado playing USC this weekend on the road.

Wasn't aware they were headed this way. My buddy is a prof at USC...he has season tickets but has already thrown in the towel on the season. I should try and snag them from him.

You should! Colorado can beat them, they have some speed and talent. And will certainly outcoach USC...

Except for injuries or situations where the entire team goes in the tank psychologically, just about every team does get better as they go. But so does their opponent, so "better" is pretty relative.

Can we cancel Notre Dame and go back to Arkansas in '18? That switch is going to kill our SOS.
