VIDEO: Scott Frost campaigning for Nebraska to jump Michigan in final 1997 poll
Something I will never forgive or forget, and neither will any other Michigan fan who followed that season:

UPDATE: For those in the comments who say "what's the big deal; he was just pulling for his team"—no. The relentless badgering of the pollsters and the media was something that only Nebraska, not Michigan, did. Maybe in this BCS/playoff era we're now accustomed to that sort of electioneering. But in those days it was considered profoundly distasteful and unsportsmanlike. You did your talking on the field, and let the pollsters make up their minds. That was the majority ethos then.

Ugly? I don't think so.
Frost should have shut up. Just a few years earlier, Penn State (yes, that Penn State) went undefeated and finished #2:

No hillbilly coaches screwed Nebraska out of its championship.

He said what any QB of an undefeated team would say. He probably believes to this day that his team could've beaten '97 Michigan. Charles Woodson was immensely confident they could've beaten Nebraska. But this has more to do with both were all-in scholarship athletes than any basis in fact. As for basis in fact, I'm very skeptical Nebraska could've beaten Michigan. Nebraska was inconsistent whereas I've seen few teams in my lifetime dictate the game the way '97 Michigan did.
But as far as 1997 goes, I really hope no one holds against me to this day any number of the insanely stupid things I said back then. There'd be too much to choose from and they're far less coherent than a QB who has his team's back. I seriously doubt anyone gave a shit what he said anyway. Coaches voted for Osbourne because he "deserved" a gold watch.
This grudge against Frost is petty and it makes the Michigan fanbase look petty.

child, you have almost reached the point that I already know I'm gonna disagree with just about anything you say... it's gonna save me a lotta time, not even reading your Crazy-Don-Brown eyes comments anymore,
By the way, if you think changing from your previous avatar to Cray Cray Coach eyes lent you some sort of gravitas - well, almost any of your comments on any recent topics woud have dispelled that anyway!
But chief among your foibles is constantly repeating "You think these young guys are dumb today?! You shoulda seen me!..." To almost any criticism of any person under 25 from virtually any era.
So - how the Hell dumb were you?! I mean compared to now?
F**k Tom Osborne, Scott Frost, Phil Fulmer, and any apologists for their almost criminal robbery of our Undivided, Unquestioned, Undiluted National Championship of 1997!!!!!!!!!
Go Blue!

This is a non issue for Saturday. We're going to beat them badly not because of 1997 but because we're a very good football team and they're not.

I dunno...I like having more reasons to hate other teams. UCF was a simple tune up game before all this...haven't decided how I feel about it but I am definitely interested to see how Harbaugh will treat them Saturday.

Frost: "First off, I'm so proud of this team, I'm proud to play for Coach Osborne."
Nothing wrong with those comments.
Frost: "I just have to say this about the National Championship, if all the pollsters honestly think .... that Michigan could beat Nebraska, then go ahead and vote Michigan, by all means."
Nothing wrong here either. He's not advocating for Nebraska here! A lot of the pollsters did vote for Michigan, of course.
Frost: "But I don't think there's anyone out there with a clear conscious that can say that Nebraska and especially Coach Osborne, doesn't deserve a National Championship for this, at least a share."
This is advocating for Nebraska, yes. But he did say "at least a share." Not denegrating Michigan with this comment.
Seriously: what am I missing here? I don't get why this 1 minute interview in particular (maybe he said something else elsewhere?) is that bad.

If that Nebby / Mizzou game had instant replay Nebraska would have lost at least one game.
September 5th, 2016 at 7:42 PM ^
Yes, and if you look at how each team did against the 2 common opponents - Colorado and Baylor, we beat each by a bigger margin than nebraska did - 24 vs. 3 and 35 and 28, respectively.
I still blame peyton manning for just an abysmal showing in the Orange Bowl. Any time a volunteer fan wants to have the Heisman argument, remind them of the bowl game as well as his record vs. their main rival, no not rutgers, but florida.

By the 2nd QTR. TN defense played well. Frost and Fullman are asses! Michigan should have been the sole NC! NE should have lost to MO, the refs really gave NE a freebee!

I've conducted a thorough ideological analysis of the Harbaugh playbook, and concluded that what he does with tight ends may qualify as Socialist Football, if not full-on Communist Football.
