OT-Game of Thrones S6 E5

Arya is about to be in Assassins Creed. Will Yara sit on the salt throne? Sansa is the brains and Jon the brawn. Ramsay, do not be deceived...you will reap what you sow. WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE

I command you to find a cure...

after a weak ass kingsmoot...

outside of the birthing of the others, and even that was weak exposition, this has been a lame episode....

There are multiple theories floating around that say pretty much all bad things going on in the GoT are Bran's fault or have origins closely tied into his flashback meddling. Didn't take much stock in that idea until tonight. Now I 100% believe it. Fuckin' Bran.

Wow... A slower episode, but what a finish.  I don't know if I've ever been so sad after watching a TV show.  What a somber, chillingly impressive finish to an episode that, for the most part, was laying the ground work for "the wars to come."

The way they slowly drug it out with young Hodor wailing and the from-above shot (reminiscent of the Jon shot that ended S5).... Wow, did the writers/director/cinematographer/actors just absolutely nail that scene.  Unbelievable job.

The gamat of thoughts and emotions that ran through me was crazy.  Pure sadness for Hodor, shock and intrigue for what this means for Bran, excitement for what this means for the Inceptiony logic of what's happening and some small fright for Bran and Meera.  Obviously Bran has some plot armor, still, but it wouldn't have been the most shocking death ever.

The way the writers killed the wolves this season is lazy and awful. If this show is the only real ending to the story im going to be so upset.

Summer died saving Bran... I mean, it sucks, but it seemed to fit perfectly.  I think it would have been more lame if all of the crew somehow survived it. There are serious consequences to Bran's warging and the Night's King and his army are a serious threat to all.

Yeah but I think they have to manage a CGI cost, which is expensive and they're already doing dragons, big sets, costumes, etc. How much have we seen Ghost so far this season? I just have a feeling the wolves aren't seen as central to the story and so the writers have gotten rid of them. Not saying I agree with the choice but I think that's the motivation.

But to be honest with everyone who is apparently in PETA, how big of a roll do the dogs actually play in the book? Ghost, yes. Every other dog is a cursory mention, killed by a Lannister or gone. I agree that they deserve more acclaim and a better death, but everyone wants to cry about every little injustice on this show and it annoys me.

It's a wolf. An imaginary one. It served its purpose to the plot. It's death makes you sad. It helped save its master. It gave you a sense that I would be important, and it was. It also plays on the original trope -- this won't be a happy ending. The Starks aren't the heroes, and they won't reunite to right all of the wrongs done to them. This isn't that kind of story.

Actually, the Hodor thing made no damned sense whatsoever, but I suppose suspension of disbelief will get me through it.

Lots of deus ex machina in that storyline. I'm guessing they needed it so Bran can go back to the Tower of Joy once the old One Eyed Raven isn't there to stop him any more.  Will he somehow cause Lyanna's death?  His warging is almost uniformly unfortunate for those around him.
