Harbaugh was on Mike&Mike this morning
It seems to have been a ranging conversation, and he gave a lot of good quotes on the spring trip and recruiting...
On SEC and ACC outrage:
“I thought it was fake outrage. I thought it wasn’t really real,” Harbaugh told Mike & Mike when asked his reaction to their reaction. “The moral high ground of the sanctity of spring break, that’s what people chose to use as their moral stance? I thought it was fake. I thought it was fake outrage.”
On why athletes have a sense of entitlement:
“My thoughts on recruiting, as the coach or when I was a player, you want to connect with the people you’re gonna be coached by or coaching the next four years. Not only that, but the entire family. This goes back to Bo Schembechler when I was recruited. Bo would come into your home, he’d take off his shoes, he’d sit on the couch, he wanted to know mom, he wanted to know dad, he wanted to know the grandparents, play with younger sister and you felt like coach knew you, wanted to know you. To me, that part is vitally important being able to go somebody else’s hometown, to be able to go to their school, to their house and begin the process of a long and trusted friendship is vital to a ball team. That hasn’t changed, that’s the relationship building trust is a foundation of any relationship, I believe, a marriage or a ball team.”

Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith are 100 times worse.

Skip Bayless looks like he needs some preperation H for his uptight arogant ass. He always just made me feel like he thought he was better than anyone else on there.

I could be wrong, but it seems like whenever you have an organization - such as the SEC or ACC - whose sole interest is the protection of things they deem theirs alone and you, an outsider, seek to obtain some of these things because they don't really belong to anyone and there is nothing by rule preventing you from doing so, any outrage is by definition manufactured to conceal deeper issues.

I heard it this morning on the drive. Shortly after Jim hung up, puny Mike talked about not asking him the question about Kaepernick. He said that he didn't because as soon as he did, the interview would be shut down. That's not a question he'd answer nor would he answer any questions after that. I was actually impressed with this response. Not something he would normally do. He'd just go ahead and ask the damn question.

I turned the radio off after the interview so I missed that exchange. What is the "Kaepernick question" that would've shut the interview down?

I don't remember exactly what the question was, but I think it was just implying that they'd ask what he thought about him and how he didn't perform last year or something. Honestly, wasn't paying a ton of attention at the time. Cuz they kept rambling about it.

was on Mike and Mike right after he was hired and he simply shut down any notion that he was going to talk about San Francisco at all. He did not shut down the interview but one question was asked and Harbaugh basically said "next question."

And they mentioned that. But also that the rest of the questions he didn't answer as openly as before the "bad" question was asked. Basically, once the Kaep quesion was asked, the rest of the answers were his short, to the point answers. Which aren't as good for the media.

Yeah, it was in one of those interviews in the lead-up to the Super Bowl.
A question about Kaepernick wouldn't have caused and problems. Questions about York or Tomsula otoh, would not be advisable.
Guy is so real. How anyone can be conned into playing for slimey Urban Meyer instead of Jim Harbaugh is nuts.
Money and pussy can go a long way to influence a young man of that age. The pussy probably more so than the $.
That's why in 14 years when my son is being recruited by Harbaugh and a bunch of other D-1 programs, I'm going to make sure he takes all his official visits to SEC schools before he signs with Michigan.
Vagina is a strong influencer, and it's not limited to 16-18 year olds. I've made many a foolish choice because of it, well in to my 30's.
And if anybody knows about foolish choices due to pussy it's Urban Meyer.
Like most men....Money, P---y and Music are still my prime motivators to this day. Hopefully if I have kids someday...that will change... but Im good with it now!
It won't change. You will still want all three . . . they'll just be harder to attain.
Great Interview. Harbaugh was very much "on point" as usual.
Trying to envision Bo Schembechler playing dolly with Harbaugh's little sister is mind boggling.
I had decided not to think about that. It just doesn't work for the many first-hand experiences I have remembering Bo...
I know a guy who knows a guy who is going
