Looks like the fightin' Narduzzi are turning in their 1 inexplicable upset of the season.

Edit: Miami recovers the onside kick, and driving with 1:53 left

Edit2: Welp, strip fumble recovery by Pitt and no timeouts left for Miami... game, blouses.

Battle for Conference Hoop Supremacy

Battle for Conference Hoop Supremacy

Submitted by KennyHiggins on March 19th, 2017 at 11:20 AM

Hour to kill before Michigan dismantles Louisville.  As a DC native, we hear a LOT locally about the ACC's basketball supremacy.  Thought I would look at some of the well-represented conferences in the tournament.  There are 4 that have won 6 games to date (B1G 7-3, ACC 6-6, PAC 6-0, Big 12 6-3).

What is perhaps most notable is the way the teams from each conference have been shown the door.  While the 3 B1G losses have been relatively close (NW to the wire against #1 Gonzaga, and MD and MN losing by 11 and 9 respectively), the clunkers put up by highly-seeded ACC teams were absolutely atrocious (Miami losing by 20 to MSU, 5 seed UVA losing by 26 to FLA, 3 seed FSU losing by 25 to 11 seed Xavier).

Michigan's game against 2 seed Louisville looms large in either restoring a little ACC luster, or underscoring the hideous nature of Hollis/seeding crews efforts.  Let's Go BLUE!!!!!

Harbaugh was on Mike&Mike this morning

It seems to have been a ranging conversation, and he gave a lot of good quotes on the spring trip and recruiting...

On SEC and ACC outrage:

“I thought it was fake outrage. I thought it wasn’t really real,” Harbaugh told Mike & Mike when asked his reaction to their reaction. “The moral high ground of the sanctity of spring break, that’s what people chose to use as their moral stance? I thought it was fake. I thought it was fake outrage.”

On why athletes have a sense of entitlement:

“My thoughts on recruiting, as the coach or when I was a player, you want to connect with the people you’re gonna be coached by or coaching the next four years. Not only that, but the entire family. This goes back to Bo Schembechler when I was recruited. Bo would come into your home, he’d take off his shoes, he’d sit on the couch, he wanted to know mom, he wanted to know dad, he wanted to know the grandparents, play with younger sister and you felt like coach knew you, wanted to know you. To me, that part is vitally important being able to go somebody else’s hometown, to be able to go to their school, to their house and begin the process of a long and trusted friendship is vital to a ball team. That hasn’t changed, that’s the relationship building trust is a foundation of any relationship, I believe, a marriage or a ball team.”

The new ACC/B1G bowl game at Ford Field has a name: The Quick Lane Bowl

The new Detroit Lions sponsored bowl game at Ford field (which ended the "Pizza Bowl's" reign there), finally has a name.  The game, which which match the B1G against the ACC on Dec. 26th, will be known as the Quick Lane Bowl.  Quick friggin' Lane Bowl.

Why not bring back the Cherry Bowl, or heck, even just the Ford Bowl would be acceptable.  I guess I shouldn't complain too match about having a bowl game in Detroit against 2 major conferences, but I somehow tricked myself into thinking it wasn't going to be called something absurd.  Silly me...

Maryland Settles Exit Fee Suit With ACC

Maryland Settles Exit Fee Suit With ACC

Submitted by bluebyyou on August 8th, 2014 at 3:31 PM

Per the Baltimore Sun, Maryland has settled its suit over exit fees for $31.3 million of the $52 million the ACC was asking.

The University of Maryland and the Atlantic Coast Conference ended their legal dispute Friday with an agreement under which the school will pay $31.3 million of the original $52 million exit fee the conference was demanding.

The settlement figure is the amount that the ACC already collected by withholding shared conference revenues as a sort of down payment on the larger fee.

That means that each side now can walk away.

SEC stepping up in game music

SEC stepping up in game music

So the SEC is following the ACC to allow more piped in music during the game between plays.

http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2014/sec-will-relax-rules-regarding-so…

The rap/rock pipes will continue to spread in my opinion until all stadiums are blaring all the time.

You kids stay off my lawn, too.

Seriously though I am not a fan.
