OT-Peyton Manning...might NOT be a good dude.

Submitted by TNBlue1977 on

I had heard rumors about this incident before (including on this board) but never anything in a legitimate news outlet until I saw this article in the NY Daily News this morning.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/king-peyton-manning-squeaky-cl…

Obviosuly both sides have their own version of events but this is not a good look for Peyton or the Manning family and some of it is pretty disturbing.

I've never been a big fan of Manning because I think he's a phony who smiles for the camera and is probably not the great guy everyone makes him out to be in his off-camera life but this is worse than I thought.

Accept the L? What?? HAHAHA. Dude, if your sense of self-worth is really that wrapped up in "message board wins" about a reporter I don't care about and a scumbag athlete I don't care about, you need to reassess your life. No, I did not know about this story. Shaun King - whether you like him or not - revealed that information to me. He directed me to documents that I read that are incredibly damning vis-a-vis Peyton Manning. I would guess he has done the same for lots and lots more people today than just me. Not all of us scour the Internet for this kind of shit. It's just that simple. So you can go on hating Shaun King. I could not care less. You can go on killing the messenger instead of focusing on Peyton Manning and his incredible hypocrisy. I could not care less. In short, I could not care less about you. Have a lovely day.

Of course it exists you liar. When the victim was sticking to her story about what happened they asked her to pin it on a black player instead so as not to ruin Payton's saintly image, and they targeted specific back players for her to pick! The Manning Mafia tried to specifically target a black victim to frame, scape goat, and punish for Payton's crime!

Then when he started his smear campaign he kept making up and spreading lies that she was sleeping with all the black athletes in ways that implied sleeping with blacks makes her a disgusting dirty whore.

The Mannings are racist and sexist criminals who don't think twice about slandering and framing people without any concern for how it does or can ruin their lives, let alone thinking twice about doing the original crime. Instead he thought about it much more than twice, as he continually taunted her by doing reenactments in front of her with other players and laughing about it.

For you to talk about the writer being a piece of shit in this context, as if he and that are the most important issue here rather than the mountain of perpetual outrageous and disgusting behavior from Payton, Archie and the whole football staff, program and athletic department over time & what incredible pieces of shit THEY are, makes you a piece of shit too.

For no reason on earth one of the trainers decided to make up a lie that she was a lesbian and started calling her a "cunt bumper" to her face and in front of others until the whole coaching and training staff was calling her that for 3 years until she was promoted to a position where she could make a rule banning such language, so then they all still called her "bumper"!

The instigator also referred to all the womens teams as .... something lickers, I can't remember the word, but a lesbian reference.

I follow college football pretty closely and write about baseball. This was the first I heard about these "rumors". As I read the story, I thought about all the players over the years that arguably did a lot less, but wound up kicked off their teams or at least suspended. At the risk of adding 2+2 and getting five, this story makes it easy to disbelieve his version of the HGH "rumors".

No dude, you're ignorant. All of the liars admitted lying & making everything up when they testified under oath. Everyone who ever knew the woman or witnessed the event testified under oath that Payton and the other assholes were lying and that none of the accusations they continually made and spread around the department were ever close to true. Every smear of her character and language and behavior was a complete lie according to every single witness! They all said she would never, and had never, done anything like anything they said she did or spoke with so called vulgarity, or any fucked up shit like that! Those are the court records.

This woman with nothing but gold star rave reviews about her character, nature, behavior and accomplishments from everyone she ever had contact with at every job, including in the Olympics, outside of these few Volunteer pig fuckers, isn't to be believed, nor the parade of witnesses who backed her every claim and refuted every claim from the various perpetrators?

he wanted to thank Budwieser and then say thanks to to the man upstairs or something like that. I had no idea Budwieser came before the lord but when he gets payed to say Budwieser and doesn't get a penny to mention God then I guess Bud comes first.

That's the only reason he wrote the story. He's trying to get some credibility back after he stole money from the BLM movement (among other things). He doesn't care about the woman in the story or anything like that.

Everyone knows this story. Manning is just lucky it happened pre-Twitter otherwise he would have went through the media wringer at the very least.

This isn't about race and generally never is when dealing with super star athletes with prestige and money.  It's a socioeconomic discussion.

See: Ray Lewis, OJ Simpson etc

This is not an attempt to be political or analyze existing racial inequalities  amongst the population as a whole....just saying that money and fame trump race in modern America when it comes to preferential treatment.

but I thought I kept up on sports enough to know about the Mannings being sued for Peyton putting his genitals on some ladies face. I couldn't care less who wrote this article all I want to know is how true it is. Also why does Brady and deflate gate get more airtime than Manning shoving his ass in a womens face?

The Manning side is blaming black teammates and a woman for Peyton's lack of maturity and decency! The guy gets off for everything he does and he can go into every situation without worry because of his last name and who his father is. The defamation is worse than the crime and for that woman's career to be ruined by it is deplorable. I am sick and tired of hearing his smugness and hearing everyone defend every step or noodle throw he makes. The second HGH allegations were made against him guys like Peter King, Chris "fraud" mortenson, and Adam silver defended him and said let's look at the evidence and said it was a non-issue. These are the same men who came for blood with little to no truth or evidence on Tom Brady. The State run media that is ESPN and NFL network need a reality check and know that spreading falsities and ruining reputations on no grounds other than their own interests is wrong. Perception is everything and maybe what everyone thinks about Peyton has been wrong this whole time. He's able to get away with things because of this perception and even ruin innocent people's lives. It's also funny after reading this article that not one person on his team would testify on his behalf. Everyone who did said the opposite!

I'm not going to pretend that Peyton Manning is a saint, but this also is not the most damning story in history. It's something that happened 20 years ago (yes, he supposedly continued to lie about it, but the deed was done 20 years ago) when he was in college.

I know a lot of people who would be felons, on the sex offender list, etc. for doing things in college if they only got caught. I would hazard a guess that a lot of people on this board have also done things that would get them in trouble if caught (urinating in public, unwanted sexual advances, stealing something, buying/using certain substances, etc.).

Truthfully, I'm not saying that the woman was asking for it, and I'm not blaming the victim; but some occurrences like this wouldn't happen if women were not put into situations with so many males in a testosterone-driven locker room. It's a bad mix. It's not her fault, and it's not entirely Manning's fault, either. In my personal opinion, women should not be put into those situations in college athletics. Let male trainers/doctors take care of male athletes in the locker room/training room. Otherwise, you're putting the women, the program, and the university at risk of being tarnished by the actions of 18- to 23-year-old, hormonally charged boys.

a) Female athletic trainers ARE common these days. That doesn't refute anything I said. Weed is more common these days than it was 20 years ago, too (at least legally). That doesn't mean there can't/shouldn't be a discussion about whether that's a good thing or not.

b) The vast majority of players can control themselves. The vast majority can also avoid driving drunk, avoid hitting their wives/girlfriends, and avoid committing suicide. Those are still issues, though.

c) I'm not blaming hormones. I'm blaming the decisions of administrators to put females into male-dominated areas where men are surrounded by other men, influenced by hormones/immaturity, sometimes scantily clad, etc.

You can neg me if you want. I don't really care. But if you think any woman should be able to get along just fine in those situations, I hope you'd be okay with your girlfriend going to a frat party all by herself with no other females around. I mean, what could go wrong?

I don't get why you're trying to compare peeing in public, theft, and sexual assault. I also don't get why you're trying to compare a stroll down a street in Detroit to the University of Tennessee athletic training facilities. Or a frat party to practice.

We can expect student athletes to exhibit appropriate human behavior around coaches and the medical team that provides for their care.

Female athletic trainers are not going out looking for trouble. They're simply doing their jobs in the environment that their employers provide. If that setting is unsafe, that's the problem. There are better solutions than not hiring women. I would say that's one of the worst possible responses.

Mr Miggle

or practically anything else. We don't make decisions on that basis. You were the one suggesting the solution of removing women from those jobs. That's an unreasonable reaction to their not being 100% safe. It's not a standard you would apply to other safety issues in football, nor the type of solution you would advocate.

I don't think it's a false standard. There are some things you can eliminate with 100% certainty. There are some things you cannot. It's impossible to eliminate, say, hits to the head 100% of the time because of the speed and nature of the game. It's not impossible to eliminate, say, student assistants from being injured while filming practices from cherry-pickers or elevated platforms. If Notre Dame made a new rule that filming from platforms was against the policy, then that virtually guarantees that another death will be prevented in a similar situation.
