All the crystal ballz are coming up Blue!
8 of them yesterday.
Donald Stewart is Rashan Gary's teammate, in case you somehow missed it.

It's peak Ballz season right now.
January 25th, 2016 at 1:17 PM ^
So, is that 6 guys each putting in 2 ballz, or 12 guys with only one ball putting it in?
I knew a kid in college who had only one ball. We called him Uniball. Still do sometimes...

You can't prove that

Personally, I'm not into putting the ballz in, but the guys I know who are into it always put 2 ballz in. It's obviously easier to put ballz in when the recruit is on the same page.
Hope that helps.

It seems like New Jersey may as well be New Ann Arbor.

So I'm not THAT concerned with WR abundance.

Let's just build a bullet train from Jersey to AA. It's a forgone conclusion anyway. :)

Harbaugh has to be driving these other coaches crazy with this relentless, down to the wire, go after anybody, recruiting effort. Will be interesting to hear what other coaches say when the dust settles on Feb 3rd.

Or is there a Twilight Stuggle realignment feel to our Paramus (and NJ) recruiting? Control as many surrounding countries as possible to improve your die roll with realignment in the target country?
No? Okay, never mind.

Maybe next year the strategy will be to conduct coup attempts on pipelines traditionally viewed as unbreachable.

Magnus has a pretty good WR preview of the candidates out there at touch-the-banner, and isn't very high on Stewart unfortunately. Good size, but doesn't know how to use it and doesn't create good separation. That said, if it gets us Gary who cares.

Why is he wrong? Magnus has parroted a lot of people's views of him. He is raw. He has issues with diagnosing plays because he has played football all of 2.5 years. He has physical talents. He needs cooking.
That's a guy who people are going to look at his great size and think he walks in as a freshman and pushes but just about all the scouting says he needs time to learn to diagnose keys much better. It is difficult enough to absorb schemes when you've been doing a sport since 8 years old. That's the thing people get on Bolden about constantly - he is "late" because he doesn't read the play well.
He looks like a high ceiling guy who you put on the shelf in the near term and teach him actual football. But if he puts it altogether he can give you a lot down the road.

He was wrong about De'Veon Smith and Wormley.

This is only a passing thought, but should there be any concern about loading up on a recruiting class from a state that's usually not a power rich state like Texas or even Ohio? This looks like an up year in NJ, but just had a minor concern since NJ is not what you think of when it comes premier level of competition. I know Gary is a stud on the combine circuit, but I'm not sure how the other guys have fared when compared against competition from other states.
I guess I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high since I still sleep in my Kelly Baraka jersey.

Also as no major recruiting program lies within NJ, it's easier to poach from than those others. Great place to build out-of-region ties and pipelines.
January 25th, 2016 at 2:08 PM ^
New Jersey is pretty good, talent-wise. They average about one five-star and ten four-star recruits per year, which is better on average than the state of Michigan. Equally as important, there really isn't an appealing local program for recruits. A state like Ohio might have 1.5x-2x as much talent, but half that talent is already predisposed toward OSU.

Last year we had Peppers
This year we have Gary
Before that I remember Devin Fuller
While obviously not in the league of FL/ TX - it certainly is not to be underestimated.

New Jersey consistently produces very good talent and none of it is fiercely loyal to the home school the way they are in Ohio.
In fact, if you compare the talent that is legitimately available to Michigan (i.e. not pre-destined to be Buckeyes), New Jersey likely produces more talent year in and year out from Michigan's point of view than Ohio does.
Owning NJ is a great thing for us and it creates a sustainable talent pipeline.

Dwight Hicks was from New Jersey. That is enough for me. For you youngn's look him up on wikipedia.

Not a coincidence that Gary is waiting until signing day to announce. My bet is that Harbaugh has Gary go last.

Harbaugh can speak and sell Michigan vs Stanford.
Shaw cannot do the same.
