OT: The X-Files

It has been a long time coming. Hoping this mini-series isn't a let down.

You don't "give it" to Scully. You meet her on Christian Mingle and then after 4 months of small talk you take her to a nice seafood dinner. Then you get on your knees and beg her to let her give it to you while the x files theme song plays on a loop.

Hell of a continuation of the series. That was about as good as I could have asked for.

Ending was not at all what I expected - but I loved it. Still got the tension and the sense of wonder that it always did. I don't know what the hell happened with that 2008 movie but damn, for this one Chris Carter sure did knock it out of the park.

This looks like a tepid rehash to me...no real drama or mystery in the way the writers re-introduced the characters and story line.

Anderson looks awful.

The premise was fine and all but there were scenes that just didn't hold up or were just way too rushed.

I enjoyed it but it was not as well thought out or done in a way that is conducive to what TV has become.

I'll always love it and watch but Mulder needs to step up the acting skill.

I loved X-Files, and started rewatching some just recently. I had really high hopes for this, and I did read the 1st episode was kinda so so and the second one really picks it up.

But within 20 minutes, they introduce one of the dumbest plot lines in any production ever made that was a serious production. They seriously blamed an alien cover up many decades ago on oil companies. Fkn hilarious.

DVRed this and the recording was cut short thanks to the late start sue ro the football game. now i can't find any options to watch it online. I wish they would not have premiered after a sporting event.

It is my understanding that if this is good, it will become a full time show; however, I do not think Gillian and David will be back for it.

I stayed up for this and I rather enjoyed it. My biggest mistake perhaps was reading the Variety preview a little while back, of course, so I had a vague idea of what it was about, and I actually sort of agree with it in that this gets off to a bit of a slow start. It makes me really want to watch tonight's second episode though, because I was getting into it (just like old times with X-Files). I had to chuckle as Duchovny nailed the "drifter Fox Mulder" look that I half expected of the character over a decade after we last heard from him.

Wife and I weere pumped! I think it turned out great, not the greatest acting (esp in the scene on the proch with Mulder & Scully aguing), and it didn't take much convincing for Mulder to do almost a 180 on the alien s consiracy, but pumped for tonight!

I got to see the first three eps, and each one is better than the last.  The third ep is crazy.  No spoilers, but if you guys liked the first ep, then you are in for a treat.  Thank god this is on, because there is really nothing on right now that I am too hyped about.  All of my favorite shows start in April and May.  Game of Thrones, Person of Interest final season, Mr. Robot season 2 and The Americans.  At least I have this show to make the wait until April ok.

It could be that this first episode was more mythology based(which is why I disliked the series at the end), but the pilot left me cold.  I hear the next few episodes are more monster of the week, so my interest might pick back up(my wife loves thes the X-files so I'm watching it whether I like it or not).

I have totally forgiven, and will totally forgive, any and all problems or faults with the show.  I am just happy that it is back, even for a short time.

The wife and I actually high-fived when the Smoking Man showed up.

I think it is right back to form from it's best years (after a somewhat awkward first episode back which was understandable from a narrative standpoint given the gap in time).
