Michigan still may land Vic Viramontes...

#Michigan decommit, Vic Viramontes (3* ATH), tells me Harbaugh still calls his father, and Michigan is still definitely in play for him.

anyone else think he would make a good flanker/TE combination?

- wouldn't have to get ground into paste constantly running thru the line of scrimmage (less wear and tear)

- would be quite damaging against DBs with the ball in the open field.

Back on-topic, I hope VV makes the jump.  Seems like a really good athlete.  The more QB-ish guys that are out there, the more trickery that can evolve on things like jet-sweep passes 8-)

Sam said this the week he decommitted.  UM would go after Vic again but it was not a priority anytime soon and intensity of pursuit will be based on availability of slots and position needs.

With CB of Jones to Notre Dame by Brace (Brian/Ace), not getting Jackson, Uche seeing CBs to Florida, etc this fits in with the openings still avail and needs (assuming LB is 1 destination for Vic).   Or even taking out the LB stuff - with how large the class is supposed to be and the rash of decommits, and potentially missing out at guys at other spots there are now openings/

In the past this is about the time I would do everything within my power to stay away from recruiting. It just gets too crazy coming into the homestrecth. So and So is decommitting, someone else decommits from Big Time program, says UM now the favortie, Michigan back in play for elite player, etc, etc.................................... Get's full out looney tune.

However, now I just have too damn much time on my hands and when I set down for a qucik five minute read to get the latest, I normally have to shut the net down after realizing 45 minutes has passed and I'm no closer to getting ready for my nightly intake of tequila which, of course, requires a certain amount of food intake. But this season tops them all I think in just good old fashion crazy.,

I'll admit I don't know too much about this young man, except that the majority of the members on site think he's a perfect fit for football, as practised by Jim Harbaugh. So in that respect, this is good news, although I really have no idea on haw far apart the two parties are.

I'm with you though, retirement provides too much time to keep up with is an immense amount of reading and come away with little more knowledge than I had when i sat done. Never pray for time to move along rapidly with the exception of the final weeks of the recruitment process. Hold on tightly. That which is apparent proves to by anything but, and things we had no reason to expect, or even a clue hinting a possibility, suddenly results in a player donning a UM cap.

I feel like I'm watching an episode of "As the Harbaugh turns".

That said, I thought Viramontes was a really interesting recruit and I was hoping there was some way to get him back in the fold.
