Saturday night drinking etc. thread

Tonight we imbibe to welcome Crawford and wish Nauta luck at Georgia, even if they don't turn out to really use tight ends much.

I went with a Tank 7 from Boulevard Brewing in Kansas City. Farmhouse is a new style for me, but I was pleasantly surprised.

How are you doing it, doing it, and doing it well?

I quite liked it, actually. The tropical/citrus hop taste is very different for Founders but I thought it was solid.

I'm over the bitter/dish soap IPA's and prefer the more balanced ones.

Never had Tank 7, but our pug is named Tank (he's a big, ripped dog as pugs go). I'll have some red wine shortly and settle in to watch UM hockey.

Why do so many drink all day? I looked at it at the store and it's only 4%? Does it really taste that good? I like a good strong IPA that leaves you bitter and drunk.

If you're into grapefruit, I suggest Grapefruit Sculpin. It's a full-power IPA, so not good for drinking more than a couple, but so deliciious.

Didn't even know it had a grapefruity taste. One of my current favorites is Sam Adams double IPA. Come in at around 8.5% and has that nice bitterness I expect from an IPA.

It's a "session beer," meaning it's not meant to be heavy or high ABV - you can drink it all day (or mow the lawn, as they illustrate on the label). Think of it as a light beer with flavor. Most IPAs are going to be heavier and higher in alcohol, but this one isn't by design.
