Jabrill Injury Rumor?
TIFWIW- Friend of mine who is an alum just sent me a text saying that his relative treated Jabrill Peppers at an Ann Arbor hospital after he punched glass and tore a ligament in his arm/wrist. Apparently out for the bowl game. Still nothing being reported, but just thought I'd pass it along. Apparently he has been seen in a cast around campus.
This is a rumor on Penn State's 247 site. Has anyone heard anything about this?

...yeah and a drunken LSU fan was teabagged at Popeyes by an Alabama fan.
December 10th, 2015 at 2:17 PM ^
Betcha he got the business end of the teabag (or worse) during his prison time.

bullshit
December 10th, 2015 at 1:31 PM ^
It's true.
No sign of Jabrill Peppers yet at the Bust. The Daily saw his hand in a soft cast yesterday, several other UM students have confirmed it.

I believe the number for bullshit is 1-800-ITS-POOP
But, its $5.99/min so watch out for that on your bill when you call them.

Griese at s'keeps story from back in the day? now with less police but more bowl-related implications!!!

I can remember stories about Brian Griese doing the same thing, too.
Michigan football players love to get drunk and punch windows, apparently.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:27 PM ^
He didn't punch it, he kicked it.
My girlfriend was a bartender there so I got to know all of the managers/staff. If you have ever been there you'll know there is a window as you walk in that's about eye level. But once you are inside that window is actually lower relative to where you're standing. Brian got real liquored up and actually kicked that window. He was put deep into Lloyd's doghouse and was nearly booted off the team.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:49 PM ^
Yes, seems to me this is someone rumormongering by mixing what could be a legit injury with an old story about a different player punching a window. The latter definitely happened in the last few years.

I believe he missed the banquet and award ceremony in Indy for this reason.
December 10th, 2015 at 12:56 PM ^
It was reported on Twitter that he and a few others missed to bust to focus on studies.

Thats not the fucking point. Obviously the beat writers asked, "Where is Jabrill?" Someone told them that was the reason, and that's what was reported. The fact that the info in the OP got out the way it did is garbage. Using that info to assume they missed the bust because of it is dumb.
The school, program, Jabrill himself, or everyones favorite deity Jim Harbaugh will release this information when it is time to do so. Don't play telephone through the internet and make shit up. HIPAA is there for a reason dammit.

It isn't doing me harm. Violation of HIPAA laws is bad. Assuming stuff is stupid. And Jabrill isn't on MGoBlog to stand up for his rights. Even though this information is out, my hope is the next guy can be better protected.
Injury news should be released properly in my opinion.

Peppers has been seen with a cast of one sort or another, then there are the people he told or witnessed the incident that aren't controlled by HIPAA. Dude, whether you like it or not, HIPAA is not a controlling authority for the overwhelming and vast majority of the population, and certainly not for the media. There is, of course, one person that can turn off the rumor machine but from what I'm seeing he isn't so inclined.

I'm thinking you might have a soft-spot for those Nittany Lions?!?
December 10th, 2015 at 12:53 PM ^
I do think Sam Webb mentioned on wtka that he was in a sling around the time of the Bust.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:21 PM ^
I don't know if the sling is related, but I'm just throwing it out there--and I'm sure i'm not the only person that noticed it--that he took a big hit at the end of the OSU game. It was big enough to shake him up. He came off to the sideline, arm dangling a little, shaking it around some, and immediately after they we forced a punt. As he came off, he was pointing for another player (Darboh, I believe) to go out and field the punt.
I guess we will wait until the details come out on this problem, but here's to hoping it's not serious.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:24 PM ^
I belive Sam and Ira were discussing the Bust and the players that weren't there. I think the info was Rudock in a sling and Peppers in a cast. I'll try to go back and find the exact quote.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:51 PM ^
that he was seen on campus wearing a soft cast.

I heard something about him having an aircast on his wrist the night of the bust. Although he missed the football bust that night to do homework. So don't know how accurate that was.
But, isn't that relative breaking HIPAA laws spreading word about who they treated?

And it REALLY pisses me off. Put it this way - Urban Meyer could come in with a groin sprain from Kiffining the wives of every prominent OSU booster and a wrist injury from handing out Mexican cartel drug money to all of his players and I STILL wouldn't tell a soul. Not my wife, not my dog, I wouldn't even tell myself.
It's federally mandatedly illegal, and it is just not a cool thing to do to anyone. Michigan player or not, the person who leaked this is a grade-A piece of shit.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:37 PM ^
Yep and that person should be fired. I would be shocked if someone at UofM didn't see this post and didn't track down the people who treated Peppers that night.
Should be able to get to the bottom of this real quick.
December 10th, 2015 at 5:33 PM ^
That too was supposed to be confidential. I don't recall anybody getting butt hurt over that.
December 10th, 2015 at 7:07 PM ^
These are two entirely separate issues.
December 11th, 2015 at 6:52 AM ^
Confidentiality is as confidentiality does. Who is the arbiter of when confidentiality can be ignored, you?
December 10th, 2015 at 1:38 PM ^
I am of the snitches get stitches mentality also. The important point of this thread is your gift of the verb "Kiffining" to all mgoblog readership. Thank you for your service.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:06 PM ^
Thanks for the info. I just don't like spreading word on an injury that was obtained through a HIPAA violation, and brought up on a PSU board. If the Michigan Beat is spreading it, well it was obviously okay that the information got out. Or if the school, football team, or athletic department released a statement, I am all ears.
This just seems wrong.
December 10th, 2015 at 1:10 PM ^
Yea I get it. I didn't want to post it but I didn't see anything on the board about it, so I wanted to ask and be told I was wrong...
