Jabrill Injury Rumor?

Submitted by MGoSwilly on

TIFWIW- Friend of mine who is an alum just sent me a text saying that his relative treated Jabrill Peppers at an Ann Arbor hospital after he punched glass and tore a ligament in his arm/wrist. Apparently out for the bowl game. Still nothing being reported, but just thought I'd pass it along. Apparently he has been seen in a cast around campus.

This is a rumor on Penn State's 247 site. Has anyone heard anything about this?

He didn't punch it, he kicked it.

My girlfriend was a bartender there so I got to know all of the managers/staff. If you have ever been there you'll know there is a window as you walk in that's about eye level. But once you are inside that window is actually lower relative to where you're standing. Brian got real liquored up and actually kicked that window. He was put deep into Lloyd's doghouse and was nearly booted off the team.

Thats not the fucking point. Obviously the beat writers asked, "Where is Jabrill?" Someone told them that was the reason, and that's what was reported. The fact that the info in the OP got out the way it did is garbage. Using that info to assume they missed the bust because of it is dumb.

The school, program, Jabrill himself, or everyones favorite deity Jim Harbaugh will release this information when it is time to do so. Don't play telephone through the internet and make shit up. HIPAA is there for a reason dammit.

True...but an OSU player just got busted for soliciting a prostitute, don't you think that info getting leaked is more embarrassing than this? The point I'm trying to make that in today's world info like this is going to get out when you're a public figure. Doesn't make it right but it is how things are nowadays.

Peppers has been seen with a cast of one sort or another, then there are the people he told or witnessed the incident that aren't controlled by HIPAA.  Dude, whether you like it or not, HIPAA is not a controlling authority for the overwhelming and vast majority of the population, and certainly not for the media.  There is, of course, one person that can turn off the rumor machine but from what I'm seeing he isn't so inclined.

I don't know if the sling is related, but I'm just throwing it out there--and I'm sure i'm not the only person that noticed it--that he took a big hit at the end of the OSU game.  It was big enough to shake him up.  He came off to the sideline, arm dangling a little, shaking it around some, and immediately after they we forced a punt.  As he came off, he was pointing for another player (Darboh, I believe) to go out and field the punt.

I guess we will wait until the details come out on this problem, but here's to hoping it's not serious.

I heard something about him having an aircast on his wrist the night of the bust. Although he missed the football bust that night to do homework. So don't know how accurate that was.

But, isn't that relative breaking HIPAA laws spreading word about who they treated?

And it REALLY pisses me off.  Put it this way - Urban Meyer could come in with a groin sprain from Kiffining the wives of every prominent OSU booster and a wrist injury from handing out Mexican cartel drug money to all of his players and I STILL wouldn't tell a soul.  Not my wife, not my dog, I wouldn't even tell myself.

It's federally mandatedly illegal, and it is just not a cool thing to do to anyone.  Michigan player or not, the person who leaked this is a grade-A piece of shit.

Yep and that person should be fired. I would be shocked if someone at UofM didn't see this post and didn't track down the people who treated Peppers that night.

Should be able to get to the bottom of this real quick.

Thanks for the info. I just don't like spreading word on an injury that was obtained through a HIPAA violation, and brought up on a PSU board. If the Michigan Beat is spreading it, well it was obviously okay that the information got out. Or if the school, football team, or athletic department released a statement, I am all ears.

This just seems wrong.
