Ummm... no, they weren't. They were white.

...but I guess they were white.
Hmmm, who knew?
August 15th, 2015 at 10:57 PM ^
They've always been white with the Blue painted where the Blue "Michigan" padding goes.

The 2002 OSU game was in Columbus. Pretty sure that picture is 2003.
August 16th, 2015 at 6:38 AM ^
Superguide checks out. That's 2002 Wisconsin not OSU.

The Big House also got got the new field turf in 2003, fwiw.

Thanks! Speculation over. I think the neon yellow is supposed to be easier to see in rain and whatnot. I like that Baxter is paying attention to every detail to make sure his guys succeed

They look neon to me, not maize. But whatever man...
August 16th, 2015 at 6:54 AM ^
They're not maize. The NCAA only permits white or an approved yellow color. Otherwise you'd have teams like Boise State with blue and orange zebra print goal posts.

I like it, and even if it is the first time, it's probably worth a sign for a game at some point. Either that or "Through the maize, you shall amaze" as a more roundabout way to praise success, although I like your version quite a bit. Like someone said, this does rank a bit low on the list of things I am interested in changing, but it isn't a bad change at all.

for this (and drop off the board again), but "raise" isn't grammatically correct. It should be "rise." 'Course, that don't rhyme... (Look, it's an occupational hazard, ok?)

Same goes for "I can't get no satisfaction". Maybe we should wrote a letter to Mick Jagger.
August 16th, 2015 at 12:34 PM ^
Actually, it depends. If he is saying that it is impossible for him to get zero satisfaction from something, because everything satisfies him, then it's correct.

I only see maize on that field.
That is the preferred term.

Wait until Coach finds out they changed the bathrooms (as I have heard, as I have not been there since the renovation and I assume that it is not just a planetwide plot to make me seem foolish on a message board) and that you no longer intentionally pee on the wall.
Changes will be made!

As an Iowa fan by by genes, he reminds me A LOT of Hayden Fry. He changed as much as he could to make the program his, including the logo, to make Iowa his program right out of the gate. That created a fresh idenity for the program almost overnight and among a lot of other things, helped turn the hawkeyes into a solid program.

They could not be more different. Not a good analogy.

But I'll humor you. They're goalposts. Which is exactly my point. Why does he feel the need to change something so trivial, that's been this way for 35 years?
