Lloyd Carr approves of Jim Harbaugh
So Harbaugh has that going for him, which is nice.
Carr also thinks that technology has made coaching more difficult and that the P5 will have fewer teams in it going forward.

After back to back 8-4 seasons in '93 and '94 there was some discontent starting to surface with Moeller.
There was actually a lot of discontent. I remember sitting at a wedding at the time with a Domer (great guy) who teased me about how the program was trending a direction he liked. 8-4 was highly disappointing post-Bo and most of us (including me) didn't appreciate what Mo was doing to build the program for the future.
Yeah, the passage of time has rehabilitated Mo's image among a lot of fans. The '93 team was pretty young, but '94 was expected to contend for the national title, with lots of experienced, future NFL talent. 8-4 was a major disappointment.

.(assume that was auto correct) and was meant for the previous post.
Definitely the most delicious.
Moeller being turned into Omlette by my phone seems oddly appropriate for some reason.
I can do nothing to change the past. I prepare and look forward to the future. To be able to live for today is a gift and that is why they call it the present.

Krusty the Clown said that.
since Lloyd coached a Michigan team.
Liked the guy, but he was part of the group that turned their back on RR because he wasn't "one of them". I can see already he's going to get face time and interviews this fall, all with his glowing support for coach Harbaugh. It will just make me fume more about the RR years.
Carr was the reason RichRod even took the job in the first place. He called him up and invited him to interview.
I think the truth about what happened those three years is a little more complicated than what we've been told so far. We have not heard Carr's version of the story, and maybe we never will, but I'm reluctant to assume such malice on the part of a man who served our athletic department for 30 years.
Carr didn't get much "face time" when Hoke was here, and Hoke was his own former assistant, so why would he get a ton this fall? I really don't think he wants the limelight at all.
Lloyd's jort game was pretty weak so I was never a big fan.
has responded to a comment I've posted in two years and I don't even know why. So, fuck ya and fuck Loyd Carr. He is largely responsible for the demise of Michigan football. Narcissistic dickhead.

Write drunk. Edit sober.
Why do men fear the dark? Because darkness is ignorance made visible. And do men despise ignorance? No, they prize it above all things, all things! But only so long as it remains invisible.
There is a gif of me getting clocked in the face while I was drinking coffee.

It is dangerous to be sincere unless you are also stupid.
He's like the 2nd funniest poster on this board.
I've been on my best behavior. Who is number one and what is his address? Actually I think I'm rather mundane and not funny at all. Maybe funny for a koala, but it defeats the purpuse of saying someone is funny if you have to use koalafying language like "funny for a . . ." you know?
Obviously at his farm. Beets take lots of tender loving care.

RR teams were horrible and getting worse, you cant blame LC for that. You could say Hoke got a poor roster but he digressed as well. Somehow I doubt that JH will use any excuses, like blame the last coach, if he doesn't turn the team around. I wonder if JH can match LC record and get a NC in the same time frame as LC. Hope so.
so you can't say they got worse. Hoke on the other hand has records trending downward so you can say they got worse.

I think it's a shitty concept.

We've been over this before. Assistant salaries were a lot lower back then, but Michigan still would have paid more than Casteel was making at VT.
Also, if RR was only able to win with his own special DC then maybe he should have refused to come here if Casteel wasn't part of the deal.
Didn't Harbaugh turn down several million $ more per year to free up cash to hire good assistants?
of the defense getting worse every year, is that true? My memory is we couldn't stop anybody at any time during RR, and during Hoke our offense kept getting worse, our running backs would run into the guard and fall backwards, that's all I remember over the last 7 years.

He was scapegoated after one season. It's not his fault he couldn't run his defense without interference. I believe that our D wasn't too bad in RichRod's first year, thanks to Shafer, but the offense was historically bad. Once Shafer left, the wheels fell off.
Hoke won a BCS game with RR's kids.
and the ugly. But Lloyd was a class act, he loved UM, and he supported the athletes. My lasting respect for him is not tarnished by unsubstantiated information coming second, third, fourth hand, particularly in lieu of any response from Coach. I think part of what makes Carr classy is he was not pulled into public remarks about what happened behind closed doors. Just my two cents, which is probably worth less than that.
depends on when your age in relation to his accomplishments. I entered 7th grade in 2001-- and this is when I started paying close attention to the program, so My formative memories are ever-so-slightly negative. I am sure if you are older than me by at least 2-3 years, your memories are probably much more positive, especially if you are old enough for the National Championship to have occured during your "pay way too much attention" years.
Well thank goodness!!! I'm so happy the retired coach approves. Too bad St. Lloyd wasn't as all in for RR too!
As if this was ever in question. I think it was obvious that Lloyd supported the decision to hire Jim during the introductory press conference. Lloyd was smiling a lot.
I don't want to have to chose between mom and dad ever again.
Why? Neither loved you.
