OT: Incriminating Dez Bryant Video May Exist

Submitted by State Street on

There is a pretty incriminating Dez Bryant video out there, and word has it that it's about to drop soon.  Deadspin is offering to pay for it, and supposedly those with possession of it have been shopping it to other outlets.  Needless to say the content of the video, while unknown, is supposedly very very bad.

Shefter has been working on this story since September: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2015/02/25/espns-adam-schefter-says-hes-been-working-on-a-dez-bryant-video-story-since-september/?wprss=rss_redskins

This will be fascinating to watch play out.

get to the point where I've turned it into a bidding war if I had the video.  Let's say this were the Adrian Peterson situation, and every day this person holds the video/pictures another kid is getting his ass beat.  Is it okay to hold the video/pictures then?  The answer is no.

That is quite a ridiculous situation you've made up in your head.

It's not like Adrian Peterson had his kid caged up in his basement, and only brought him out for daily whippings.

I would hold out for as much money as possible with this video, and you would too.

Here's the thing.  If you're a D-bag, and you do D-baggish things, you probably hang out with other D-bags who also do D-baggish things.  Sooo... if you do something stoopid, it likely was recorded by some of your d-bag acquaintances, and you can't really be surprised that they want to turn it into a payday.

Now, if he wasn't a d-bag at all, then (a) he wouldn't be hanging out with d-bag acquaintances who want a payday, and (2) there wouldn't be a video of him doing something d-baggish to begin with.

Nothing about "right effing thing" here.  SHOW ME DA MONEY.

It's not about protecting Dez, it's about doing the right thing for the alleged person he's harmed.  Seeing as this has been a "story" for months, someone isn't getting their justice here because this person is waiting for a higher bid.

Or it could just be free enterprise.  You're making some major assumptions about potential victimes etc.  If it's what it's rumored to be it's really bad and I agree someone should come forth but so far we don't know.

The guy who's supposedly going to be breaking the story hasn't even seen it.

that there's a victim involved when the description used by someone "in the know" is that it's 5x worse than the Ray Rice video? What victimless crime is that bad? I'm just saying that it's either not worth all the hype/there is no incriminating video, which I hope is the case, or this person knows something that should have been turned in a long time ago. You can call it free enterprise if you want, but I'm free to think this person is an asshole if they have evidence of a serious crime and are trying to leverage a profit out of it.

Does anyone if we will have episodes of inside michigan football throughout the entire spring practices? Or was that just a one time video?

A quick Google search of "Dez Bryant video" yields some very interesting results to say the least.  The one that got me was "it's five times worse thant he Ray Rice video" and potentially career-ending.  He also tweeted (and then deleted) a comment today about needing a raw cut reality show because we was not being able to handle the betryal right now.

As mentioned earlier he had a domestic violence charge from his mother a couple of years ago.  If that was filmed (and was as bad as it sounds) it could be what's on the video.

You should educate yourself on Dez Bryant and his upbringing.  His mother was 14 when she had him, and spent time in prison for crack soon after he was born.  He bounced around from home to home before college.  He's had a brutal upbringing, but it doesn't excuse his assault of his mother.  Let's not be so quick to judge.

I get why people are interested in this story, but from what I've gathered the world is getting super-interested about a video of a guy beating the s**t out of a woman.  Count me in the minority of people who would be fine about never seeing it.

This is going to come across as bleeding-heart, but maybe its because I have a young daughter and am thinking like a Dad, but knowing that this incredibly painful moment in this woman's life (to say nothing of Bryant, who if it is true deserves to be punished but that doesn't necessarily mean in the court of internet opinion) will likely be broadcast on freaking TMZ or Gawker to drive up pageviews is terrible.

Dez Bryant - Whatever this thing is

Demarco Murray - Who knows if he'll be back; always injured

J. Randle - Always in trouble so probably won't be there if Murray leaves

Marshawn Lynch - Could retire

Drew Brees - Really old

Reggie Wayne - Probably gonna retire

Julius Thomas - Has broken Manning or no Manning throwing to him.

----

It was a good run I guess. Really should have drafted some higher character guys to keep them all in line.

Um, Peyton played much of the second half of the season with a slightly torn quad. I thought you of sll people would know that ball velocity takes a huge hit when you can't push off. To compensate, Peyton had to use higher trajectory to make all throws passed 12 yards. All heeled up, Manning is still top 10 QB in the nfl and will make one last run at a super bowl in 2015. Julius Thomas may not even be there next season, and If he is he needs to stay healthy, which he was not for much of ghe second half do the season like Peyton.

This is all I've been hearing about on the Dallas sports radio station the last few days. If it really is out there, you know we will all see it eventually. Sounds like a lot of smoke so far to me tho

Personally I am really not a fan of these "OT: I just saw this on Deadspin" threads. Seems like there are a lot of them. We can all read it and post there if we want to. Here it's just noise and when this stuff has absolutely nothing to do with Michigan, blights the board.

My question is if there is a video and someone is holding it can they be charged of obstruction of justice for not turning it in? Especially if there is a victim.

So there was an incident at a Walmart parking lot, where cars were registered to Dez, but it's unclear if he was there at the time.  He did arrive later, and the police found that there was no offense committed.  Sounds like terrible friends of Dez are trying to extort him more than anything...but an actual video will show where the truth lies.
