Frank Clark: "The woman took it to another level"
When asked about the November domestic violence incident, Frank Clark appeared to blame the woman:
Clark: "The woman involved took it to another level. It all could have been avoided." He said it was a "shock" when he invited to Combine

That just sounds horrible.
Mod edit: This is the full quote from this MLive story. There are more words from Clark in the story and I'd encourage everyone to take a look before forming a strong opinion on what he said today. JGB.
I'm just saying it was a conversation between me and one my friends, and the woman involved, she took it to another level that it shouldn't have been taken to. "That's fine. I'm not throwing her under the bus. I'm not saying she did anything wrong. I'm just saying a lot of things that happened in that room that night could have been avoided."

let's actually have this thing go to trial with a conviction before bashing him. I mean, in light of the UVA rape and the mattress girl from Columbia, females have not been very trustworthy lately of accurately reporting things like rape and domestic violence while the male accused gets creamed in the press.
yea yea you shouldn't hit women, but women also shouldn't do things that get them hit or initiate physical confrontation with men. I think the details will come out that this women wasn't just sitting around and then got beat up. She probably behaved more along the Tila Tequila/Chuck Finley wife type stuff. But yea, because shit is so PC now, even when a man is getting assaulted he should never hit a women. GTFO.

She claims to have thrown both a remote and an alarm clock. Did either or both hit him? Who knows -- yet. She also bit him while being restrained. (Marks show she landed the bite) Did he restrain her because he was pissed she threw a remote his way? How much of a factor did alcohol have to do with this situation? He admitted to drinking. And was she pregnant as Frank suggested in the police report? How about she NOT throw anything in the first place and how about a 277 pound man walk away once things spin out of control?
I am all for letting this play out in court. I hope they both get counseling and make much better choices.

Is "spanking" the same as "hitting"?

it's distressing that some people seem not to understand his responsibility to restrain himself.
I would stake a lot that she had plenty to do with this, but that doesn't excuse the response. Clark is strong enough to kill someone by accident - he can defend himself, but he's got to do that and get the hell away from there.

With all due respect, while violence against women is never right, too often violence by women against men gets overlooked. No one knows what exactly happened or how things got escalated other than the parties involved. As usual, the group think complex dictates that everyone should demonize Clark. I prefer Brian's approach, which is to wish Frank nothing but the best in life from here on out. We all make terrible mistakes but these kids have theirs made public.

I think everyone would be better off if nobody was getting their ass kicked in jail. More violence isn't going to help Clark (or anyone in jail/prison) become a functioning member of society.

Given the Ray Rice situation and recent 60-sec PSA during the Super Bowl.

piss poor cover for Goodell, who still can't explain his ridiculous actions.
His actions spoke pretty loudly. I can't remember a worse year for the commissioner of a major sports league. He's lucky it's such a self-sustaining enterprise because he fucking sucks at all the public aspects of his job.

That first sentence is really hard to follow. Here is the police report. No one was found unconscious, as far as I can tell. It looks like one of the redacted juvenile witnesses said "at least a fifth of hennessy." I was just fact checking your post. Please don't consider this a defense.

As a woman, I feel the need to comment on this based on some of the responses.
Most men are a hell of a lot stronger than most women and can easily contain a physical situation. There is no need with getting out of control with a woman on this level since 9 out of 10 times you can easily overpower her, unless you are 5'0" skinny Rob Lowe and she's a 6'5" MMA fighter.... or Hope Solo, then you have different issues.
Unless there is immediate danger to getting harmed (not hit, slapped, punched, bitten, etc) with serious injury or death impending, then yes...you are within your rights to protect yourself. If that means hitting a woman to save your life.... I wouldn't have an issue with that.
Most times it's never about that. It's just a coward and a bully with no self esteem or control who feels better about himself hurting someone else.
That being said, a guy who I was dating had a crazy ex girlfriend. He was raised never to hit girls and even when she attacked him, he just took it and begged her to stop. He tried to get his phone and she broke it, jumped on his back and bit him so bad, (saw the bite wound---it looked like an animal got him) and out of self defense, swung his elbow around and caught her in the nose and she started bleeding. Long story short, she called the cops and it ended up looking like he was the aggressor because she had more obvious damage to her than him. He went to jail but the crinimal charges were dropped because it was quite obvious what had happened. He was 6'2" and she was 5'0" nothing. Sometimes guys get caught up into situations like this too, and it can favor the women over the men. That chick was just lucky I wasn't around that night. I'd probably would have gone to jail too.
