Guys have really tough decisions to make, and go back-and-forth usually up until the last minute.  Case in point: Beilein said he was unsure about whether to stay at Canisius or take the Richmond job within a few minutes of his self-imposed deadline.  On a drive, he saw a sign for Richmond, IN, and the rest is history.

I don't think any of these reporters are lying, but these coaching change situations are best viewed as "I'll believe it when I see it."

Back up a second here and use your heads. How would a sign and trade help Harbaugh? It would artificially restrict his options. It would only benefit the Niners, who get a draft pick for Harbaugh. This is a Niners front office press release, and and especially self-serving one at that.

Arizona is tanking under Drew Fucking Stanton and the Other wild card contenders are perennial choke artists in the Lions and Cowboys. SF can easily get to 10 wins and grab the last wild card spot. The longer SF goes in the playoffs the less of a chance he ends up at Michigan.
