Oregon for Michigan Wolverines limited edition t-shirt
For all Michigan alums living in Oregon:
The game in 2007 was definitely an ass-kicking, but the 31-27 loss at Autzen wasn't. Oregon scored 21 pts directly as a result of our craptastic special teams, which also cost us the game at Iowa that year.
It wasn't as close as the score indicates. Special teams are part of football and you can't fault Oregon for scoring 21 that way.
but I also remember Chris Perry running for about 20 yards in that game and that was frustrating as hell to watch.
I know we had a 10-point swing in our favor. Oregon drove the ball for what was damn near the entire first quarter, only to stall inside the 10. They attempted a chip-shot field goal which we blocked and returned for a TD.
It was an awesome turnabout , but at the same time I'm thinking our defense is going to get gassed. I was there - it was a hot day and our D had just spent 10 minutes getting pushed down the field.
The offense never really got into any kind of rhythm until the second half for sitting on the bench the entire first quarter.
They may have scored 21 points due to special teams, but we hung 10 on them there. I still remember the defense not being able to get off the field as the reason why we lost. If the game had been 5 quarters long however... the game was ours!
You can remind them that the final score was close, and they'll just remind us, "Crowned field". Ouch.
This is something I can get behind.
I still stick by it that the win in Ann Arbor gave Oregon its bump into the national spotlight. Everyone loves beating UM because they are simply the best.
In regards to the shirt, it is the first of about 4-5 others that I have seen that are state specific. There are a lot of wolverines out here, especially in Portland. If you are new to the area, come to the Thirsty Lion for a game and you will not be disappointed.
Do you live in Maine currently? If so, where?
I'm in southern coastal Maine right now and am deciding on moving to Portland, ME or Los Angeles, CA.
I don't know any other Michigan fans in my area.
The only real issue with Maine is the lack of economy (and homelessness in Portland).
Maine has a high tax rate while having little industry to support it. Making money is where LA comes out ahead. That is my dilemma.
How do you like Portland, OR? Does it really rain THAT much?
or reasonably priced drinks. or having sound on for basketball games.
they make these for most states, i'd imagine. Non-liscenced state specific for several universities. Quality isn't great, IMO
I can tolerate "soda" and "bubbler." This I can not stand.
I wish someone would make a North Korea Michigan shirt.
That my friend, is a T-shirt I would buy. Especially if they stick a picture of Kim Jong Un on it.
I didn't think the link below was thread worthy, so I'm just dropping it here. EMU is installing grey field turf... that seems like it would be extremely uncomfortable to play on, gotta get much hotter than usual. It also make the whole stadim remind me of looking at some kind of prison complex.
