UM-friendly bar locations across the US (and elsewhere)
ED-Seth: Welcome to our Bar Finder Sticky. The user community has kept this going since 2009 to help MGoBloggers find UM-friendly sites for their suds consumption.
We also got a big boost in curation in 2016 from our sponsors, the...
...since most of these bars are officially alumni bars. To find your club and events happening in your area, visit their website.

THE ORIGINAL POST:
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.

There's Meatheads at Charleston/Decatur. The bar is disgusting though...I might have to go there for the State game on Saturday, but I'm tempted to stay home and watch it. Las Vegas definitely needs a better Michigan bar.

Concur on the Inn Zone Rainbow.
I was there for the bowl game against South Carolina and those are some of the most diehard true blue UM fans I have ever met. Just a fantastic time. I went back for the semi-finals of the 2013 Final Four and it was ever bit as great.
I ended up Facebook friends with a few of the people there and they are just fanatics. Hoping to take my son out there this fall for the Nebraska game.
238 S Rainbow Blvd (on Rainbow, south of I-95, about 20 minute ride from the Strip)
Las Vegas, NV

This buffalo wild wings at Mcqueen/Elliot closed in August. The other location in Gilbert remains buckeye themed.

As a 100% straight man, I’d rather attend a true gay bar - to include debaucherous homosexual acts- than be around OSU fans for a night. Not even a doubt in my mind.
Also, using the word gay as a perjorative is very...well gay.
A couple more locations, and the owners are UM grads, that show the games: Ashley's at 338 S. State St., A2, 48104 (which usually have good times before and after the games) as well as our Westland, MI location at 7525 N. Wayne Rd., 48185. We'll have to organize some UM get togethers in western Wayne County for those who can't make it in on game day or for those road games we're not traveling to.

By Oxmoor. There's a sign there and everything.
family is moving to texas, so ill need places to watch during thanksgiving breaks and such
FWIW, when I was living in Miami, the local alumni group would meet at Shula's Steakhouse at Don Shula's Golf Club in Miami Lakes for all the games. The club page at the alumni site doesn't say if they're still there.
Anyone know any places in the Marquette area that would be good for football Saturdays? Ever since I moved here I feel like I get weird looks for sportin the block M when everyone else is wearin NMU gear. I've seen a few M fans, but I have a feeling they were just "trolls" on vacation.
I'm hoping that there some UM football fans up here, they just put up a Buffalo Wild Wings and I'd love to have an excuse for some wings and beer.

The name of the Restaurant /Bar is Crackers it is right on the water in Crystal River Fl. The owner is from Michigan and has a big Michigan flag hanging in the Restaurant

I've got everything from the thread in the map as of today. I've also reorganized a bit - there were so many bars, I had to clean things up to make it easier to use. Good problem to have, I guess.
Is it kickoff yet? I can't wait to head to Duffy's or Mad River for the UConn game.

I cannot find a michigan bar in jacksonville. It sucks cuz there are plenty of ohio state bars
Jacksonville, FL? I’m new to the Jacksonville area and I’d be interested in a UM friendly spot.

The Club is again at The Black Bear, on Mamaroneck Ave in White Plains....a large, sports bar type of feel, kid frendly, booths with tvs.......or Sam's Bar and Grill in Port Chester, right on the channel, for that neighborhood bar that roots for your team feel.

Does anyone know of a place in Fort Myers, FL, or Southwest Florida, for that matter, where M fans congregate on game days?
Much appreciated.

I believe that Tustin Brew Co. is an official Alumni Association Bar.

Pour House on Capitol Hill and Tommy Joes in Bethesda, MD are also good choices for the Washington, DC area. Any MGoBloggers living in the District?

I am Army and have been in the DC area for about a year now. I've been to Tommy Joe's to drink but never for anything M related, I think I will be there tonight for the M vs Ohio game.

So I will be in Europe for the ND game and UMass game. Does anyone know of a bar in Dublin, Ireland where I can catch the UM vs ND game, it would also be acceptable to go to a ND friendly bar and I can talk shit to the fans (more likely a ND bar in Dublin). I will have to check out the London bar for the UMass game.

In addition to Henry J Beans, you can add the Sports Cafe (http://www.thesportscafe.com/brand.aspx) , Sports Bar and Grill (http://www.sportsbarandgrill.co.uk/contact.cfm) and Bodean's (http://www.bodeansbbq.com/).

Will they all show UM games?
And am I correct in assuming that these are all just sports bars that show a ton of games? Or is one an official UM alumni gathering spot?

The Sports Page in Rochester, NY (499 Monroe Ave, Rochester, NY)
has promised me a TV every Saturday. I will be there for most, unless I am in Ann Arbor cheering them on myself.

I'm back in Chicago after a year long deployment. This will also be the first fall since I moved here that I won't have a Job that has me working Saturday. I have friends that go to Joe's at North and Clybourn to watch Georgia games, and while its a nice place, there are not to many Michigan fans there watching football. I have heard a lot of good things about Duffy's but have never been there. Is it really a good place to watch a Michigan game? How is the gametime atmosphere?
August 23rd, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
There are a ton of reviews for Duffy's on gameday out on the interwebs - but expect an early crowd that gets rowdy for big games, even though it's a pretty big space. There are shot and beer specials throughout the game and a full menu. The crowd is on the younger side and it can feel like a frat house at times.
The local Alumni Association hooks up with a different bar or two every year. I believe for 2010 they've got Rockit in River North and in Wrigleyville signed up, so check their websites for more gameday specials. Obviously I can't say for sure but I'd guess the River North location would be the most subdued/mature/adult of the three this season.
August 24th, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
Thanks for the info. I live closer to the River North Rockit anyway, so if what you say is true it works out better for me. I will just have to check out both and see what I like better atmosphere wise.
August 24th, 2010 at 10:09 PM ^
I plan on headin to Rockit for my first Michigan game anyone have any advice on how early i should get there to get a table?
August 25th, 2010 at 10:52 AM ^
I'd say probably an hour or so. You never know. It will get more packed once we start winning this season.

Thanx Nate hope to see u there

Anyone know of some Michigan supported venues for the games in Virginia Beach? I feel like I'm back in Ohio with the way these places get flooded with those fans.
August 30th, 2010 at 8:05 PM ^
I watched the 05' Rose Bowl at a house party for Alumni in Va beach. I know there is a regular bar the alumni association goes to if you look it up on the alumni site for va beach.
