ED-Seth: Welcome to our Bar Finder Sticky. The user community has kept this going since 2009 to help MGoBloggers find UM-friendly sites for their suds consumption.

We also got a big boost in curation in 2016 from our sponsors, the...

...since most of these bars are officially alumni bars. To find your club and events happening in your area, visit their website.

THE ORIGINAL POST:

A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.

Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know.  I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.

Gameday Traditions

Gameday Traditions

Submitted by canzior on October 26th, 2016 at 9:19 AM

My new wife has been adopted as a Michigan fan, and we are starting a family.  I became a Michigan fan being from Detroit, and an Uncle who played high school ball with a couple guys on the 89 team.  He liked both UM and MSU though, while I stuck with UM.  I grew up in the DC area, so not a lot of Michigan fan-dom in my life.  I am curious if anyone has any awesome gameday traditions that they have/had with parents, aunts/uncles, children, or friends that they wouldn't mind sharing.

Also of note: I spoke with a friend about PSU/OSU (he was at the game, speaking with the coaches before the game)...Penn State's gameplan going into the game was to mimic Wisconsin's defensive scheme, and put their starters on special teams to gain an advantage.

Were you one of the many MGo patrons at the charity beer garden last week? More than 800 fans dropped in and at least 20-30 members of the MGo community took advantage of the drink discount (mentio MGoBlog for 2 beers for $10 (instead of $6 each). The media noticed, too: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jCMOaHT_SYI http://www.mlive.com/business/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2016/09/slows_bar_bq_… Food and beer start flowing at noon. Who else will be there today?

This seems to be a bit of a tradition for Gameday week.  I think we've had sign threads for every CGD that has been in Ann Arbor, so... whatcha got?  I won't be there so I'm just here to submit bad ideas and dated dad jokes.

Maybe a bald head and goatee photoshopped on Harbaugh - "I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS"

Like I said, I'm just here to suggest bad ideas.

EDIT: I see that I've committed an MGoSin.  I maintain that there is enough content coming in to keep this thread up, double post or not.

What Was Your 1st Gameday Experience

What Was Your 1st Gameday Experience

With the first game of the 2015 season upon us, this got me reminiscing about my first Michigan game. It was 1990 ( I was only 9) in South Bend against #1 Notre Dame. We had endzone seats which was cool because we could see Touchdown Jesus over the other side of the stadium. I know a lot of people hate Notre Dame, but they have an amazing campus. And even though Michigan ended up losing 28-24, I fell in love with Michigan because of that experience.

So what was everybody else's first experience, home and/or away? What memories did you take away?

Just a reminder, as just announced, once again, Main Street will be closed near the stadium on game days, along with several other streets. Plan ahead, get their early.

A HUGE Shout out to Seth

A HUGE Shout out to Seth

So my Dad and I were able to attend the game on Saturday thanks to the awesomeness that is Seth. I think both of us had more fun than we had ever had at a Michigan game. Even when Miami came back and tied it up in the second quarter, I was in the stands laughing. Seth you are an incredibly funny guy. We had a blast.

So Seth I know we thanked you multiple times in person, but I felt a board post would make it official. So thank you sir. We really appreciate it more than you'll ever know.

Vote for Michigan to Receive College Gameday Commercial

Vote for Michigan to Receive College Gameday Commercial

I haven't seen a thread about this, and seeing as how we're currently in 49th place I don't think there has been one.

College Gameday is having a contest to shoot a College Gameday commercial on a college campus this summer. The school with the most votes wins. Michigan is currently getting smoked and is in 49th place.

So yeah, go vote.
