CBS’s mock draft has Mikey going to Lions in the first round!

Also, for the billionth time...it's Mike.

It's just pronounced, "Mikey."

I like CBS Sports mocks because they have some fun with trades.

But Mike isn't what they need. They already have Branch for the slot/nickel. They need a long outside corner more.

I think they go edge in the first regardless. Either Chop or the kid from Mizzou.

But JJ as a Steeler would be way better than JJ as a bronco.

The Lions' biggest D need has been and remains *pure* CB's. Both the front line starters and depth guys. Mikey doesn't really fit the bill.

Though the last couple of years I have really come to respect just how good the consensus mocks are at projection. This mock is just one of a large group. The last consensus "Grinding" has is nearly a week old and Mikey isn't in their top 50. I highly doubt Mikey is going in the 1st round.

While I would love this and he would definitely be a culture fit, slot corner is the not spot in the secondary they are looking like they’ll be elite over the next few years with Branch in there. If Mikey lights up the 40 and proves he can hang on the outside it becomes more realistic. 

While it would be completely cool if Brad did this.  I find it highly unlikely, For as special as Mikey is he essentially plays the same position as Brian Branch Detroit needs a true CB1, Mikey is more of a talented hybrid...

As for JJ, I have stated for several months now (not on this board but whatever) that JJ will be a Top Ten pick.  Not only that, but I believe that once the combine is done (complete with interviews and such) JJ could be the #2 QB taken.  <-----HAWT TAKE ALERT ---->

As for Blake, there is no way he makes it past the 3rd round.  IF he is available in the 3rd round I am pretty sure there is a certain coach in LA that would LOVE to have him to supplement and eventually replace Eckler...  But his 40 time and 20 yard shuffle time will be scrutinized.... He runs a 4.50 or lower, he is golden.  Runs greater than a 4.50, there will be some questions...

Brian Branch already plays the position he’d play unless they wanna put him outside opposite Sutton…….not sure how well that would work…..

Sainristil mocked that high seems weird. He's the only one with a prospect rank outside of 100. Seems like a reach for CBS to rank him 100+,12th at his position, but then having him go 27th.

Loved to have Mikey in Detroit. Would be a great fit with the Lions culture. 

I hate the Steelers.  It would suck to see JJ on them, but I would still cheer for him.
