It amazes me how many fans have no idea what's really going on with Michigan not getting the Underwoods of the world. Oh, and they actually only have a few of the many, many variables out there in their control.
Did you see the goals? Granted, that's not a good save percentage to say the least, but in this case there are some mitigating circumstances. The first goal had our d-man fall/get slew-footed by the guy he was covering who then scored on a blind backhand. The second goal was ridiculously amazing (I was impressed and I'm a Wings fan), and the third was a bad bounce/turnover that went right to an unguarded Hab in front of the net.
Tldr; While our goaltending has not been stellar this year, you can't put last night on the goalie.
Here are about 5 minutes of highlights; most definitely worth the watch. I was screaming in my kitchen as I watched them. The last 2 minutes and overtime were absolutely insane.
Agreed. I was playing on the anxiety that many seem to feel...in April of every year. While we have a new coach, we also won the National Championship with the recruiting methods we've been using. Yes, I know...NIL changes everything blah blah blah.
I'm choosing to continue to bask in our undefeated season for as long as I can. Next fall will arrive soon enough!
You remind me of those who have said the same thing about Harbaugh. To quote*: "Harbaugh stabbed us in the back and left us hanging out to dry. Why should I care about him anymore?"
According to Google, Brindley is 5' 9" and 170 lbs. which makes him undersized for the NHL game. These measurements most likely pushed him out of the 1st round, but they don't matter at the college level. His skating ability offsets his size limitations in the NCAA. In the NHL, most everyone skates like him.
Feel free to your opinion. This site used to be exemplary in that it didn't devolve into what it frequently does today. It made me think critically about our amazing university in so many different ways, and both sides could intellectually debate while sticking to the issues--or at least add to the issue and not regurgitate the same, tired points.
...his problems have been just as much off the court as on. It isn’t only the team’s won-loss record. Even during his worst season, Harbaugh conducted himself like an adult and didn’t embarrass the university.
You must be trolling, SDM. Seriously? Perhaps you're Thad's second account. Okay, I'll bite.
One, I have no issue if people voice their opinion. Read what I wrote--I literally emphasized that's it's not what Thad said, it's that he has said it over and over. That's what the "...again and again...and again and again" part meant. Feel free to peruse his history; this is a broken record on nonstop repeat.
Two, I again--LITERALLY--said there's no point in comparing the football program of 2020 to the basketball program of today: "And please, save your tiresome rebuttal; I am not saying JH and JH are comparable." Yet what did you do? Yep, you did. Would it make a difference if I said I believe Juwan Howard should be fired?
Finally, I emphasized the point that too many people on here, like Thad, tend to name call and make personal attacks. You proceeded to call Warde "a jackass." I stand by my argument.
I was going to define the word "nuance," but I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference. You want Howard's and Manuel's heads on a platter, I get it. Welcome to 1790's Paris. However, if you're going to tell me how wrong I am, at least read my side carefully before making arguments that support my side.
You might not understand this, but unless Warde Manuel sends your aunt (grandma?) a poorly thought out email in the middle of the night, you have exactly zero say in what happens to anyone in the Athletic Dept. "We" aren't going to do anything. As has been reiterated SO many times, if "we" (you) had had your way in 2020, Jim Harbaugh would have been sent packing.
And please, save your tiresome rebuttal; I am not saying JH and JH are comparable.
"We" can go on like this. You and so many others apparently believe there are only two outcomes: 1. Keep Juwan and continue to lose endlessly; 2. Hire a new coach, and everything will turn to roses. You are the coaching version of a Monday morning quarterback, except everyday seems to be Monday. I am so exhausted from people who have no responsibility or accountability spewing hatred and nonsense about others. Do you really believe Warde Manuel isn't weighing his options? Do you really believe he is mindlessly going to let JH continue because it's the "easy" thing to do? The narrative that you and others have spun is simply ridiculous, and you have zero evidence. You just want to bitch.
On a related note, funny story: I just remembered a guy I sat next to at the Big Ten Championship game in Indy. In the 3rd quarter, with U of M up by more than enough points to assure victory, he began to vociferously complain that we weren't winning by enough points to satisfy his needs. He literally began screaming at the sidelines (from the 2nd deck, mind you) to start throwing the ball. Never mind that Jim Harbaugh was doing what he always did/has done/will do. Never mind that it was Iowa on the opposite sideline. Never mind that we were 12-0 at the time. This savant simply could not understand why we would hold back all of our plays that we had been saving all year instead of using them against Iowa.
Long story short, it was not nice to meet you. Please stop posting as all you do is fill the board with negativity, again and again...and again and again. Since 2011, you have been a recurring cancer. Please stop.
Do we really need to go through this again? We all know the reasons--they're clear as day and have been analyzed ad nauseam. Why go through yet another huge bitch session when it does nothing but spread anger and vitriol?
(Side note: Juwan likely deserves to be relieved of his duties. However, I think Thad should be relieved of his keyboard, too.)
I'm not a betting man, thank goodness, as my predictions versus actual outcomes are frequently way off the mark. However, if I were a gambler...is it not a guarantee that Michigan, on the road- with nothing to play for- with recent history to point to-- will lose by double or triple the point spread?
We are truly in a sad basketball moment in time. Thank God for football!
Too funny--my wife and I just started watching it, as well*. We're about halfway into season two. I enjoy it, but I have to regularly remind myself to suspend my disbelief.
*When not watching Seinfeld reruns. Yes, I'm still a big fan.
I'll echo others when I say that Mike is one of my all-time favorites. What a fun player to watch and overall amazing person. I will sorely miss watching him don the maize and blue next season.
However, due to variables like size, weight, and yet-to-be-seen-but-not-likely-off-the-charts combine numbers, I don't think he can possibly go in the 1st round.

Wow, this post may be the definition of, "That didn't age well."
Either that, or I should ignore the last line and take your first one literally. Then you're spot on!

Just to be clear, I completely agree.
