So far we've got JJ, JW, KJ, BC, BM, JH, JC officially announcing, who have I missed? (Not counting those who have just accepted Senior Bowl invites)
January 14th, 2024 at 1:45 PM ^
Donovan Edward’s is the next biggest one right?
January 14th, 2024 at 2:14 PM ^
Did Jenkins announce?
January 14th, 2024 at 2:22 PM ^
Yes he did (pretty sure)
January 14th, 2024 at 2:44 PM ^
Wasn't there a commercial with DE for Raising Canes where he said "Let's do it again next year"?
Did I dream that?
January 14th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
I guess I'll go next:
To my fellow MGoBloggers, you've made this an unforgettable experience. To my family, thank you for making me the degenerate that I am today.
With that being said, I'm excited to announce that I'm ordering a draft beer.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:55 PM ^
I knew you were thinking seriously about the draft and going for it!
January 14th, 2024 at 2:28 PM ^
I'll be sucking wheel.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:51 PM ^
Blue@LSU you're a first round grade in my book!
January 14th, 2024 at 4:05 PM ^
Thanks, Mr. President. If we ever meet, the first round's on me! 😊
January 14th, 2024 at 4:37 PM ^
Only so long as I get the second :)!

I believe this is the list of players departing to the draft so far, may not be 100% accurate:
Sainristil, Wallace, Michael Barrett, Colson, Jenkins, McGreggor, Harrell
JJ, Blake, Johnson, Wilson, Barner, Henderson, Keegan, Zinter, Barnhart, and I believe Nugent
January 14th, 2024 at 2:25 PM ^
Dang, we may be looking more like a rebuild than a reload next season.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:35 PM ^
Agreed! That's a lot to lose on both sides of the ball. Let's also keep in mind how many assistant coaches might leave. That is TBD at this time.
At least we can say, Those Who Stayed, Became Champions.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:17 PM ^
Can we discern anything about Harbaugh's intent to stay or go from all these departures? Seems like they may know something.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:55 PM ^
Well, we still have a starting DL of Moore, Graham, Grant, and Stewart, with Benny rotating in at DT. We have Johnson at CB1 and a host of plausible options for CB2, McBurrows at nickel, and Sabb, Paige and Johnson at safety. Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham seem to be the likely LB starters, with guys like Rolder and Hood as additional options and rotation pieces. Those all seem like excellent options; the big question will be depth, both in terms of DL rotation and in case of injury. But overall, the defense still looks to be one of the best in the country. How big a step back the team takes will likely depend on how the QB position turns out. But this looks more like 10-2 than 8-4 or worse.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:44 PM ^
Trial by fire against Ohio State, Alabama, Washington, and Josh Wallace created silence in the deep down field area that was the preferred space for all three elite teams. Bravo, thankful he came and helped win a championship, and I wish him the best in the NFL.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:44 PM ^
Go get em Josh! Go Blue!
January 14th, 2024 at 1:45 PM ^
I didn't know he had another year left. He turned out to be a pretty good player. Best of luck in the NFL and thank you for holding the other side of the field down this season.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:48 PM ^
Great decision! Guy played his butt off and his draft stock couldn’t be higher!!
January 14th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
Unless I'm missing something here (https://umassathletics.com/sports/football/roster/josh-wallace/11544), there was no decision to be made, as he'd exhausted his eligibility ('19, '21, '22, '23).
January 14th, 2024 at 1:55 PM ^
Eligibility is arbitrary these days.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:46 PM ^
Yeah I thought the same. He was done with college ball, since eligibility is a rule and rules only apply to Michigan.
January 14th, 2024 at 3:18 PM ^
I think it's more to mark their departure than to really convey a decision. Henderson and Barrett also posted "declarations" even though they're both out of eligibility too.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:48 PM ^
His stock is as high as can be right now. It's the smart move to go for him.
Best of luck to him and thanks, Josh!
January 14th, 2024 at 3:26 PM ^
“It’s the smart move. Tessio was always smarter.”
Was he though, as he betrayed the family and got whacked?
January 14th, 2024 at 1:48 PM ^
As expected. He came and played better at Michigan than at UMass. Wish him the best.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
Good coaching
January 14th, 2024 at 1:50 PM ^
Good luck, kid! You've done great.
And can we get a belated huzzah for Don Brown, who probably pointed him toward us.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
Massive, massive tackles at the end of the Bama game. Part of the secondary that demolished the most dangerous air attacks in the country, one of the best two or three defenses of this century.
Go for it young man.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:13 PM ^
Lights out defense and John Harbaugh deserves credit for loaning us McDonald for a year, and he also told Jim to go back to his Stanford days of pounding the rock. Worked out fabulously!
January 14th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
Double. D'oh.
January 14th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
Our pets heads are definitely falling off. When is Harbaugh gonna declare??
January 14th, 2024 at 1:56 PM ^
You're going to be greatly missed at Michigan Josh, so very thankful you chose to transfer in and be such a vital part of our championship team!
Now go be great on Sundays, we'll be rooting for you!
January 14th, 2024 at 1:57 PM ^
So at this point we’re waiting for Jones, Stewart, Moore, Paige, and Edwards I believe.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:00 PM ^
Strictly for the sake of the aesthetics of the board sidebar, I feel like JS should decide next.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:11 PM ^
Jones No just because he can solidly his draft stock by having a full year of starting… Stewart 50/50 … Paige gone … Edwards 50/50 … Moore hope to hope I’m wrong but 70-30 gone ….
January 14th, 2024 at 2:28 PM ^
I know they didn't have quite the individual years they envisioned, but both Moore and Edwards have seemed pretty locked on going to the NFL as soon as they were eligible.
I'd put them both at 90/10 to go.

In my evolving position on how much to think about next year's depth at this point, it is instructive to note that Josh Wallace joined this team in June of '23, came in, and made huge plays all the way down the stretch shutting down the nation's best receivers. What a contribution, what a player, and good luck in the pros!
Everything is gonna be alright - there are Josh Wallaces out there.

The moment I started to believe he might be a dude ...
January 14th, 2024 at 2:01 PM ^
Another great pickup from the portal for Michigan. I’ll be honest: I wondered during the middle of the season if he’d have the skill and physicality to stand up to the really good wrs he was going to see later on. I wasn’t sure if he was going to be a liability or not.
He came out with flying colors though and helped Michigan win the title. And in the way he made some great plays and locked down his side of the field when needed.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:04 PM ^
His was the one spot on the team that I thought was going to hold us back this year. Turned out it was a strength. Great job, Josh, and good luck in the NFL.
January 14th, 2024 at 2:08 PM ^
Came to be the other guy opposite an AA type corner … was steady wasn’t flashy got the job done and took care of the one concern everyone had about our team !!! Good luck and enjoy your career !!!

Good tackler also. Thank u Don Brown
