Thank you. Was just going to start this since no one else had.
What do we need to happen to make sure OSU doesn't backdoor into the playoffs again this year?
November 25th, 2023 at 6:19 PM ^
Root for Bama, Washington, Florida State.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:24 PM ^
Why UW?
I would much rather them lose and have UM face Oregon or Florida State in the CFP
November 25th, 2023 at 6:28 PM ^
Oregon is legit. FSU is not. We want FSU.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:32 PM ^
For tonight’s games, yes, root for the Huskies. Makes it a better win for Oregon next week.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:33 PM ^
I don't think uw/wsu matters. At worst, the pac12 will have a one-loss champ, and i cant see the commitee jumping a non-champ osu over the pac12 champ.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:20 PM ^
Oregon helped by winning yesterday. That keeps them up there. Winner of the game against Washington will go. That makes three. Need FSU and Texas to keep winning as well. Bama is always a wildcard should they win out.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:21 PM ^
GO COUGS!
November 25th, 2023 at 6:27 PM ^
Among the 1 losses, Texas has a win over Bama, and Oregon has a win over the beavers. Should be enough, plus either could end up conference champs with an extra game, if Oregon wins then Washington is also a better 1 loss team. Never cheer for Alabama. Ever.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:49 PM ^
- Pac12 champ is in ahead of OSU
- Michigan is in ahead of OSU
- Georgia needs 1 win to be in ahead of OSU (favored by 24.5 vs GaTech)
Then, one of the following three needs to happen
- Texas wins next week vs OU/OklaSt
- OklaSt if it beats BYU, but BYU is leading 24-21
- Florida St wins both vs Florida & Louisville (maybe 50/50 w Travis out)
- Bama wins today & SEC Champ game (Bama down 24-20 to Aub right now)
Also, if Wash wins today (up 21-14 vs WashSt) but loses to Oregon, they'd have an argument w fellow one-loss non-champ OSU (but I'm guessing that would go to OSU).
November 25th, 2023 at 6:18 PM ^
I should add that it’s always more fun when Michigan wins, especially against the Suckeyes! Thorn is balling out against Bama
November 25th, 2023 at 6:18 PM ^
Iron Bowl! Bama is mortal again.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:18 PM ^
Wow, is that the ex MSU Thorne running crazy for Auburn??
November 25th, 2023 at 6:20 PM ^
Has Peyton Thorne always been this waterbuggy?
November 25th, 2023 at 6:20 PM ^
Transitive property says New Mexico State > Alabama. And who am I to argue with the transitive property?
November 25th, 2023 at 6:21 PM ^
I always enjoy watching Alabama lose but I'm thinking we actually want them to win (because I think OSU is better).
November 25th, 2023 at 6:28 PM ^
Need Bama to lose and then beat Georgia in the SEC CG. Then we’ll have a 2 loss bama and a non conference champ 1 loss Georgia. Maybe they’ll both be out of the CFP.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:21 PM ^
Bama is in a tussle with Auburn here.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:22 PM ^
I can't believe there would ever be an occasion where I could conceivably cheer for the disgusting, greasy, piece of shit football program that is the Auburn Tigers, but Alabama does exist, so destroy Alabama!
November 25th, 2023 at 6:23 PM ^
Wow: U-Dub 14 - Coogs 14
November 25th, 2023 at 6:23 PM ^
Somebody finally stake this fucking Alabama team. Plus it leads to the potentially hilarious outcome of 10-2 Alabama upsetting Georgia and the SEC getting shut out.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:24 PM ^
Even if Georgia loses, they are in.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:27 PM ^
Unless they lose tonight.
A boy can dream....
November 25th, 2023 at 6:31 PM ^
I mean probably. And we'd get them. But 12-1 Texas with a Big Twelve title and a win over Alabama who would have beaten Georgia...
November 25th, 2023 at 6:23 PM ^
After next week:
1. Georgia;
2. Michigan;
3. Washington/Oregon;
4. ??? . . . Alabama is shitting the bed. Will OSU get in again?
November 25th, 2023 at 6:30 PM ^
Root for Bama loss and Texas winning.
Oregon/Wash winner is probably #3
Texas in a championship game gets in as #4 or FSU
For UM reasons I'd rather Wash win as Wash has no defense but I think Oregon wins and that sets up a hell of a game vs Michigan.
November 25th, 2023 at 7:18 PM ^
If FSU pastes Louisville without Travis, they could still be #3.
And it's quite possible that Oregon beats Georgia for an all-B1G final.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:31 PM ^
Maybe Texas if they win B12.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:24 PM ^
Guess I can ask this here instead of starting a new thread. Who do you least want Michigan to face in the CFP and in what order? Mine would be Georgia, then Oregon. Not concerned over anyone else.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:29 PM ^
Florida State is the only answer. Their QB is out and they have played down to a lot of mediocre teams.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:36 PM ^
Least want to play. I’m sure you meant FSU is you would most want to play. Me too, then Washington.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:43 PM ^
Yes want to play FSU the most. They may lose in their championship game tho.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:35 PM ^
Have you watched Oregon play? They are legit. I think they are going to beat Washington and be in.
I think Bo Nix is a tough matchup for us and their WR speed. I think Washington is very good, but a better matchup, and would prefer to get them.
I can't imagine FSU being left out if they win out, but I do think they'd be #4.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:37 PM ^
He said least want, so yeah. Georgia is the only team who terrifies me. But Oregon's playing the second best football right now.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:38 PM ^
That’s why I have them as number 2 of my teams I’d least want us to play.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:44 PM ^
Yeah I think Oregon is a top 2-3 team in the nation. Have said that even after the Washington loss. Their coach went full Dan Campbell on the road in terms of taking all sort of chances - all of which went south. Want no part of them unless in the final.
Will replay Washington next week on a neutral field. I am happy to be wrong but both teams have great offenses but Oregon has an actual defense unlike Washington.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:48 PM ^
And Bo is mobile where Penix is primarily a passer
November 25th, 2023 at 6:49 PM ^
And we have experience playing with Penix
wait...
November 25th, 2023 at 6:27 PM ^
Bama and Washington in close rivalry games in doubt unlike Michigan which was an easy win.
On a serious note I think Oregon is going to run train on Washington next week, they are a top 4 team.
Would love to see "Thorne is so scared of competition from 3 other elite QBs so left MSU" beat Bama and Washington "no defense" to lose this week. Been a total lack of upsets last month outside of OSU beating PSU.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:29 PM ^
The officiating in the Iron Bowl is terrible.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:30 PM ^
If Michigan had lost today, are we getting in? I'm seriously sick of OSU back dooring their way in...; however, if there were no divisions UM/OSU would be playing again next week.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:33 PM ^
The loser of today's game should have no prayer. The Big Ten just isn't competitive outside of the top two.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:33 PM ^
No. Everyone hates UM.
FSU undefeated. Texas winning out with 1 loss and beating Bama and brand they push in etc. Fuck the hypothetical keep out OSU.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:34 PM ^
Thorne is playing the way they need to employ JJ. Run him more!
November 25th, 2023 at 6:40 PM ^
A "disgusted" Bert Beilema is about to go 5-7
November 25th, 2023 at 6:41 PM ^
I still get to watch football!!
November 25th, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Annnnnnnd that's why Auburn is SEC MSU. Or more generously Maryland.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Oh my fucking god Auburn muffed the punt and Alabama has it deep in their territory with 4 minutes left.
November 25th, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Go Cougs
November 25th, 2023 at 6:42 PM ^
Jesus I know our punt returners only catch the ball and fall down but in this context thats ok
I miss Stevie Breaston
