OT The Curious Case of Eric Roth
Seems I can't open any of my go-to news sources without getting inundated with news from the Middle East and the Republicans trying to get a new speaker of the house. Also we are getting up to the minute news on the Stealing Stalion Staples situation. Of course these are important topics but having lost half of my brain cells while attending our wonderful university (and having a great time doing it) I can only handle so much news on any topic. Of course there can be big breaking news which is welcome.
So I want to take a brief respite from this and talk about Eric Roth. I read a review of The Killers of the Falling Moon and was surprised to see that he wrote the adapted screenplay for the movie.
His name rang a bell because he won an academy award for one of my favorite movies ever Forrest Gump. He also wrote adapted screenplays for Dune, A Star is Born, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, plus more.
I wanted to give a shout out to him for his versatility and bandwidth.
In addition he attended UC Santa Barbara and UCLA
And that's all I have to say about that.

Has anyone noticed the codebreak leak happened right after the publicity about JH's impending contract finalization and making him the highest paid coach in the B1G (once they finally get it done)?

I can think of a man born on 3rd, jilted NFL owner, and an obsolete collegiate athletic association who all might have noticed.

Yes, dude it plays like a broken record in my head.

Actually, this whole Stalion thing has caused a recurrence of my drinking problem.

I still use this phrase to diminishing returns of people remembering it. Just glad to see someone else using it in the wild

I think you mean Killers of the Flower Moon. I'm looking forward to checking that out. Good to know that connection, o.p.!

Loved the book... want to see the movie... no idea why this is on MGoBlog

I've never seen the other movies listed but depending on which Dune you're talking about I either really love Eric Roth writing adapted screenplays or really, really fucking hate Eric Roth writing adapted screenplays.

But in past times, the crisis had to do with a terrible team. This year, Stage Five could be: Win National Championship

Saw Killers of the Flower Moon the other night. It's a gem that should win a number of Oscars. Also had me thinking the entire night about what happened. Had no idea before I saw the movie. Highly recommend it.

Should I see it on a larger screen or will it work just as well on streaming at home? The long running time makes wonder.

Just imagine the crickets we'd be hearing on here during a bye week without the "sign-stealing scandal."

Hi Eric, welcome to the blog. Glad you are a UM fan!

Is he known to be a UM fan? Is that why the OP posted about him? I went to law school with an Eric Roth who was a fellow alum, but he's several years younger than the screenwriter. Is the topic relevant to anything UM-related??

I thought I missed out on a book by Erle Stanley Gardner about Perry Mason.
