Stueber on the D: "They show a bunch of stuff”
Senior offensive lineman Andrew Stueber told reporters on Wednesday. “They’ll make adjustments; they’ll make switches. A lot of unexpected stuff keeps happening that I’ve never seen before — that I’ve never seen our players do

I wonder if part of it was having a baby in his mid 50's. His youngest is now 4 years old maybe he's able to get more sleep this year? I couldn't imagine having a kid in my 50's and having the demanding job of being a head football coach at a major program like UM.
Not throwing out any excuses but Carson Wentz had a kid last spring and his game went into the shitter last year.

This is the lamest possible excuse. He and Sarah decided to have 4 kids. If it is too much for the old ball coach, he could have had stopped after 1 or 2, or pulled out or used a love glove.

He seemed to change after his dad moved back to AA and involved with team.

Here's hoping a multiple defense helps the offense almost just as much as the defense. It can't help that the offense was always practicing against Brown. They probably had trouble in games having stuff I'm sure they scouted but barely got to practice against.

Flexibility: It's a helluva concept!

Wait, you can actually do that? Watching the last few years, I didn't think adjustments were allowed.

You mean like: “hey we have a super fast and talented CB (fastest player on the team) who can play the nickel and chase the 4.4 WRs from OSU torching us” but we aren’t allowed to adjust and have to keep Brandon Watson in there

TBF, when we put a slick play together we get a penalty I've never seen called at any level of football like
"intent to deceive"

HP and HL - the demonstration of flexibility and adjustments would lead me to believe that Harbaugh has finally righted the ship.

Whatever they do on defense, whether its one thing or fifty things, as long as they do those things well. And as long as McDonald knows how to adapt to what the offense throws at him, that's all you can really ask for.
I don't expect the defense to be a world-beater this year, but hopefully we see week-to-week progression.

I’d like to see the offense try as hard as possible to score 50 every game. That side is the side that hasn’t carried the weight in the Harbaugh era

No kidding. For all the beating Brown took last year, he's the bulk of the reason why Harbaugh's first few years looked as good as they did. Once Ruddddock graduated and Jedd left, the defense largely carried the load every season

The defense was operating with Hokes and early Harbaugh recruits. Then over time Brown brought in all the east coast players and couldn't cut it with his recruits.

What load has the defense carried against OSU, and for that matter against PSU and Wiscy, especially on the road.

Either the defense is good or our offense is going to bomb. Optimism suggests the former.

Both are probably mediocre base on recent results.
