15% of Clemson's Football Team Tests Positive for PED's
Mates,
Came across this headline this afternoon, sure to warm you up even more than great slow cooker recipes. I have ad blocker so reading the entire article is tough, but the gist of the article is as the headline states, 15% of the team tested positive for PED's.
Link to article here: https://www.postandcourier.com/columnists/clemson-s-drug-probe-doesn-t-include-testing-all-football/article_6615cdf8-219d-11e9-9663-cfd49594d1b2.html
No wonder Clemson is doing so well? #PED's are worth it?
Sad if true, but I guess its not surprising.

What an unfortunate coincidence for Clemson that the only players that were juicing got selected for the random screening.

Right? If it’s 15 percent on the randomly selected players the real number must be higher I’d be interested in seeing the percentage of those who were actually tested which came up positive. That percentage is probably more in line with how many Playeds are onnit in the program.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:13 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing as I read the article. even if 20 were tested, 15% of 20 is 3, which we all knew. This is not a new revelation. Poor post title.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:28 PM ^
So, literally every coach that all the whiners and complainers on the board compare Harbaugh to are serial cheaters. Got it.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:29 PM ^
OP misstates the article. 15% of the sample who were tested, tested positive for PEDs. No plan to test the entire roster. Dallas Walmart beat me to it.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:37 PM ^
OP blocked from reading article as mentioned in the OP, glad others can. do agree though with other posters, "all kickers, walk-ons and the team managers please provide a sample" that team is cheating.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
OP dopey, XM.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
that fits on a few different levels. ouch.
i tried to be very clear about what i could see in the OP. man, some folks should try the decaf.

i wasn't referring to you, EQ, but a couple of others on here were acting liked 'd called them buckeyes or something.

Ignore those BPONE trolls.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:34 PM ^
I'd be absolutely shocked if the percentage of D1 football players who use steroids (at least occasionally) wasn't far north of 15%. More than 15% of my high school buddies used steroids.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:38 PM ^
This. People on this board don't realize that many of these elite football players are exposed to PEDs in high school. Michigan absolutely has guys that are currently on PEDs or have taken them.
It's just the nature of top level athletics. There's doing everywhere
January 28th, 2019 at 2:41 PM ^
Not just top level athletes. There is a significant number of men that juice just to look good in front of the ladies / other guys.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:50 PM ^
Oh yeah, there are a lot of "aesthetic" lifestyle gym bros on gear. Pretty much every single youtuber who makes money off their body is on gear.
But there's doping at all levels of competition too. Inhalers are another thing that is abused, even by children being forced to puff by their parents
January 28th, 2019 at 3:02 PM ^
It's absolutely true. I won't name names, but you don't bring in a new S&C guy and then put 20 pounds of lean muscle on already well muscled athletes with hard work, prayers, and vitamins.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
Hulk Hogan lied to me?
January 28th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Sorry to break your heart kid.
Santa isn't real either!
January 28th, 2019 at 7:21 PM ^
Where’s the story? Stories have come out about Bama and Clemson, why not Michigan then...
January 28th, 2019 at 2:43 PM ^
Yeah you are right...I played at a championship subdivision school(it was D1AA back then) with guys that were going to be selling insurance and there was probably 15-20 guys on it.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:35 PM ^
The NCAA is spineless, exactly wtf are they gonna do about it, a big fat nothing, that's what
January 28th, 2019 at 2:35 PM ^
15% may have tested positive, but there could have been more that have taken a cycle.
PEDs are used all throughout college athletics, and it's extremely easy to beat the tests. SARMs are incredibly easy to get your hands on, and it's impossible to test for HGH in the NCAA.
As long as there is an incentive to take PEDs, people will take PEDs.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:40 PM ^
I really don’t care about this as much as I care about the sanctimonious bullshit from coaches like Dabo. Maybe it’s the same as it’s always been, but the older I get the more disheartening it gets. Maybe that’s why appeals to the past resonate so well. It’s not the past is any better, it’s just I was less jaded by reality.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:49 PM ^
Looks like Dabo is more of a pharmacist than magician,
he needs to go to Columbus to improve cover up skills. . .
January 28th, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
I know it happens everywhere. Some teams more than others.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:56 PM ^
Yes. Even if it isn't systematic, it still happens everywhere. I was a D1 athlete and I could have easily done a cycle every offseason, and I never would have gotten caught. And none of my coaches or teammates would have known (unless I made stupid gains).
January 28th, 2019 at 2:51 PM ^
People seem to be separating PEDs and coaching ability.
Clemson probably has a lot of guys on PEDs, and Clemson also has really good coaching. These two things are not mutually exclusive
January 28th, 2019 at 2:57 PM ^
Ok, so this thread should be taken down because that article is very misleading and simply clickbait. 15% of their football players DID NOT test positive. In reality, only 20 players were tested and 3 of those 20 tested positive which is 15%.
Of course, more players could be doping, but no one else has tested positive. The only story in the article is that Clemson is not changing their drug testing policy.
This article doesn't break any news and the OP's title is just as misleading as the article itself.
Do better.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:35 PM ^
Regarding PED's- A little Dabo will do ya...
January 28th, 2019 at 8:49 PM ^
Nobody else tested positive because nobody else was tested. Or is it your assertion that 100% of PED abusers on the team were found by testing only 20% of the players?
January 29th, 2019 at 8:54 AM ^
My assertion is that this article is misleading and the OP's title is misleading. The statement, "More than 15% of Clemson's football tested positive for PEDs" is FALSE. It's 15% of those who were tested. 3 players tested positive, more than 15% of the team would be more than 13 players testing positive.
People need to actually read articles rather than just believe false and clickbaity titles.
January 28th, 2019 at 2:57 PM ^
The risk/reward ratio skews far to the reward. It is not surprising that a bunch of kids who come from nothing see that if they take a little pill, they greatly increase the chances of cashing in and signing an NFL contract, of course there is going to be cheating.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
I’ll bet you’re a hoot at parties. Po little kids who come from nothing. Darn it Johnny Manziel, coming from nothing has caused you all sorts of problems. I cannot even gauge any adult whose brain is this small even on a day where the sun is still shining.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:03 PM ^
Bluevod on Twitter has tweeted at Michigan's strength coach telling him he needs to study the the Clemson workouts for months now. What a dolt
January 28th, 2019 at 4:55 PM ^
Just about to down vote you but see that you are Monkey House not MonkeyMan. He doesn't live in you does he?
January 28th, 2019 at 3:04 PM ^
who said cheaters never prosper
January 28th, 2019 at 3:09 PM ^
Dabo must be upset that 85% of his players aren’t trying
January 28th, 2019 at 3:10 PM ^
I loved playing football but anything that shrunk my gonads was not gonna happen for me.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:23 PM ^
It may shrink the testes but it makes the D look...well...doubled.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
If that’s your observation are you aware that looks can be deceiving? It ain’t good having a larger tire when it goes flat all the time. No thank you to roids. I’ll just take vitamins and live longer. Plus I’ll get less flat tires before 30. Someone should’ve told Pep about the Clemson route tree-plus roids. What a winning combination.
January 28th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Yes I like my wang to look huuuuge and flaccid.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:15 PM ^
This thread title is stupid and intentionally misleading. 15% of the players tested tested positive. Which was 3 players out of 20. Which we already knew.
January 28th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
10% OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ARE GENETICALLY IDENTICAL TO HITLER

January 28th, 2019 at 3:19 PM ^
This is the loophole all teams have agreed to (random testing). That a first-round prospect got suspended suggests there is a deterrent value still. That Clemson won a title in any event suggests that getting caught is just the cost of doing business (this is the model for crime in corporate America, which college football has become).
January 28th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
So how do we get Michigan guys on the most bomb ass roids that are available?
January 28th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Not surprising, but not because “oh it’s the south and they are all about winning.” I just think this happens most everywhere. I wouldn’t be shocked if there are guys playing for Michigan who are currently juicing. They just haven’t been caught yet.
Some guys also think they have no choice if they want to find a way to get on the field. They get to the next level (college, NFL) and find out they aren’t one of the 11 best players. They worked their whole life in the game and don’t see any other future for themselves except in football. So it’s either stay clean and probably kiss your dream career goodbye, or juice and take your chances with getting caught.
So I completely understand why some guys do it. They are left with thinking they don’t have any other choice if they want to live their dream. Doesn’t make it right. I’m just saying I get it.
January 28th, 2019 at 6:40 PM ^
Yeah, I was concerned when I saw his gains. He was the main one that stuck out to me, given his age, his gains, and the fact that he was a marginal pro prospect
He was looking like Laron Landry after the new S&C coach came in. It was pretty alarming to me, but garnered a "wow look at our players gaining 20 pounds after already been with the team for years with excellent nutrition and S&C beforehand - so cool!".
January 28th, 2019 at 6:45 PM ^
12 pounds in a year? It’s 1 pound a month. Male bodies routinely grow and fill out until the mid 20’s.
edit: sorry if that’s a tad snarky, I just think randomly attaching a kids name to PED use without any shred of evidence is a tad careless. For all we know he came back for his SR season and got very serious about the next step and put in the work, toncrap on him for that level of dedication is BS.
