Urban Meyer finalizing deal with Fox Sports
Urban Meyer is reportedly close to finalizing a deal with Fox Sports to Be the networks "star college football analyst." Those health reasons must be subsiding.

Doesn’t he have an Associate Athletic Director title at OSU now? Is that not an insane conflict of interest? No Big Ten will be okay with Meyer coming around their facilities.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
You'd think so but, ya know, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
January 17th, 2019 at 7:47 PM ^
EDIT: Thought better of a political comment regarding Fox.
SECOND EDIT: Unless I'm missing something, this place has finally reached the cranky asshole saturation level and the collective IQ has dropped another ten points. Oh well, we did have us some times.
January 17th, 2019 at 9:17 PM ^
You still kinda made one.
January 17th, 2019 at 10:01 PM ^
You’re right. We should all be super apolitical while a soulless, mirthless buffoon takes a blowtorch to our democratic republic.
January 17th, 2019 at 10:10 PM ^
No. You are free to be as political as you want to be. And there are tons of places to be political (comment sections on foxnews, cnn, msnbc, politico, etc).
This, however, is not one of them - it’s kind of nice having a place where politics isn’t thrown in your face (kind of like your comment just did)
January 18th, 2019 at 2:04 AM ^
Can we add RIP posts to that also?
There are plenty of places to go for that info.
January 18th, 2019 at 11:28 AM ^
He has a lot of very political posts in his history. I don't think he's going to stop.
January 21st, 2019 at 1:53 PM ^
Politics is out but gravy recipes reign on this site! Makes you wonder about . . . a lot.
January 17th, 2019 at 10:35 PM ^
Dude. Take this shit to some other board. Or go scream in the shower.
January 17th, 2019 at 10:39 PM ^
When UMHX1992 is not making hot political takes, he’s writing stuff like:
“Let Dan fucking Mullen kick the shit out of us again. Fuck Michigan football forever. Fuck it. Fucking loser coaches will lose five games next year. Fucking hideous to watch.”
Stop polluting the blog please.
January 18th, 2019 at 12:10 AM ^
Come on man.
January 18th, 2019 at 11:26 AM ^
Constitutional Republic.
January 17th, 2019 at 8:53 PM ^
Prep year for his next position as USC head coach.
January 17th, 2019 at 9:17 PM ^
LA studio. Checks out.
January 17th, 2019 at 9:27 PM ^
I'll bet his doctors advised him to get another job as a college football analyst to remedy his mystery headaches. They probably remembered a few years back when it only took a few months as an analyst to cure his heart condition.
January 17th, 2019 at 9:32 PM ^
Sorry, I killed my Twitter account long ago ... but to all of you who can please tweet the world that this guy is a pathological liar. How can anyone believe one word he says ? I mean, this guy enabled a wife-beater and sexual deviant to coach college kids. And word on the street is Zach Smith was the OSU bagman coordinator. Expose this shit NCAA ... where the fuck are you?
January 18th, 2019 at 12:32 AM ^
I would think he will drop the Associate AD job/title if he takes a big money deal with Fox. Could be wrong.
January 18th, 2019 at 8:25 AM ^
Conflicts of interest are not recognized in O-H-I-O. Rules regarding free tattoos and leased automobiles are not recognized as well.
January 18th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
Fab Five, snuff said.
January 18th, 2019 at 9:49 AM ^
I'm assuming if he takes the job with Fox he'd resign in his position at OSU, no? I agree that doing both would not be a good fit.
January 18th, 2019 at 11:29 AM ^
Don't worry. He is only Associate AD until signing day. After the athletes are contractually bound to OSU, he will cut all ties and prep for the USC job. After a miraculous recovery from his "health issues," of course.

Obligatory up/down vote post
January 17th, 2019 at 7:58 PM ^
But now my up/down vote of your obligatory up/down vote post will be interpreted as an up/down vote on your OP.
AHHHH we need OP voting rights!!!!!
January 17th, 2019 at 8:26 PM ^
It's like inception for up/down voting
January 17th, 2019 at 7:07 PM ^
But I thought being an assistant ad to gene smith would be a full time job, and oh yeah, what about that teaching gig at THEEEEEEEE ohio's business school???
January 17th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
Guess he taught them a thing or to, right?
January 17th, 2019 at 7:10 PM ^
Assistant to the AD*
Dwight Schrute'd
January 17th, 2019 at 7:50 PM ^
The "class" will more than likely have almost all of it's students from the football team. So he'll have plenty of free time.
January 17th, 2019 at 8:13 PM ^
you can download the episodes of his class at Fox on Demand. . .probably going to have a reality spin like Harbaugh's show on Amazon.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
He better be barred from the UM campus and not allowed to cover any their games.
This is something Warde better not be quiet about. This guy is an associate AD at OSU. What a crazy conflict of interest.
January 18th, 2019 at 1:12 AM ^
I would think this time around he'd be more concerned about the inner workings of Oregon, Washington, and UCLA. It was cool that Hoke opened the doors and let him in the henhouse during his last health scare.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:10 PM ^
He was a studio analyst for The Game in 2011 on ESPN/ABC. I'm okay with this symmetry as long as we play OSU on Fox this year.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
I’m pretty sure they pulled Urban from the game that year. He was already in talks with OSU.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:51 PM ^
Yeah he covered the Nebraska game the week before.
January 17th, 2019 at 11:38 PM ^
They pulled him from broadcasting the game, but he still served as a studio analyst.
January 18th, 2019 at 12:33 AM ^
That’s the last time we won, so this is a good thing?
January 17th, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
What network wouldn't be proud to be associated with a fine upstanding individual like urban. /s
January 17th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
Let's hope he will go to TV analyst school. He wasn't very good at it between his Florida and OSU gigs.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:23 PM ^
so.. when's the USC job open again?
January 17th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
Urban is never coaching again. Just take his word for it.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:45 PM ^
I don't imagine Clay Helton lasts much longer if next year goes as poorly as last year did
January 18th, 2019 at 12:36 AM ^
He has Tim Drevno on staff. What could go wrong?
January 18th, 2019 at 7:38 AM ^
Almost had Kingsbury still too. Imagine the CTE potential for that quarterback. Dropping back 60 times protected by an Oline coached by Drevno. Yikes.
January 17th, 2019 at 9:16 PM ^
Helton was close to being fired this year, odds are the USC brass decided to hold off once Meyer's resignation was announced.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
So urban will now be doing the game, annoying
January 18th, 2019 at 5:03 AM ^
Better behind the microphone than on the sideline
February 1st, 2019 at 9:21 AM ^
Better than having him coaching as he has never lost to UM.
January 17th, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
When he is talking about Michigan, will he say Michigan? Now that he is not the coach, is he going to act like an adult and say Michigan.
