Michigan took more than Gattis from ‘Bama

Per the Attack Each Day podcast, Jim Harbaugh offers a few nuggets to us fans.

- Jim mentions that Coach Gattis informed him that the top QB Alabama was pursuing for their 2019 class was Cade McNamara. Great that the Wolverines beat out Bama for Cade! That’s us beating out the Tide for their top QB and top Safety in Daxton Hill.

Also:

- Jim shares that he has wanted to hire Gattis for years and jumped at the chance once he heard he was heading to MD.

- Also mentions that Gattis has an excellent reputation as a recruiter among our top recruiters (Partridge, JayBaugh)

- As mentioned in another board post, Jim confirms that Gattis will run the entire offense.

By August the Gattis'isms on here are going to be Chuck Norris-esque.  And I am okay with that haha.

I heard he was a janitor but wanted to give his dream one last shot.  He ended up being a catcher for the Atlanta Braves and being nick-named after a polar bear.

Since we all know that every good player that goes to Alabama gets paid and that they are the cheatingest cheaters that ever cheated and we know that nothing like that could possibly ever go on at Michigan, are we sure his recruiting prowess will translate?

Also are we sure he can coach non-juiced up players?

I call BS on Harbaugh claiming he wanted to hire Gattis for years....

as if he couldn't poach him from PSU as a WR coach... instead he hires Pep...  and now he can poach him from Saban ??   I call BS...

So you're telling me they signed two QBs, both ranked higher than Cade, including the younger brother of the almost Heisman winner, but they had Cade higher on their board? Sure, I'll take it.

Cade McNamara chose Michigan because, if I remember correctly, he wanted to go to a school where, even if he wasn't able to make it to starter, he still may have a chance to make it to the NFL in some capacity. Alabama must not have looked like a place for that.

And if Nick Saban wanted him that much what does that say about Cade McNamara? I like his high school play a lot.

Here's the link to his hudl senior highlights. The first play on the video is the very first play of his senior year--a bomb for a TD. You can see him look the safety #5 off. You can see the safety bite.

The play from 0:42 to 0:52 was a 4th down play, on a last minute, game winning drive.
