I got a basketball Jones...oooo eee oooo
Go Blue!

That's why they are so good. They have other tools to go to.
And the defense will always keep them in it while they figure out which tool will work.
Tonight's tool looked like . . . FREE THROWS!!

Man I love Coach Beilein - so damn humble and classy.
His comments/praise of Simpson was beautiful to hear, and he gives such a well thought-out analysis of the game and his team.

Illinois is fun to watch in an Indiana football #CHAOSTEAM sort of way.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:13 PM ^
i posted earlier that if underwood gets a rim protector on D, they will be tough.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:16 PM ^
First time I've seen them, they're an interesting team. They're pretty sloppy and ran out of gas at the end, but showed a lot of hustle and a ball-hawking intensity on D.
Way too many wasted offensive possessions. It's such a contrast to Michigan's typical efficiency.

We are so blessed to have poached Coach Beilein from West Virginia.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
Remember when he was "that other guy" from WVU?

Great Big Ten road win! Get your asses to Crisler on Sunday night.

That Ao dude is a fucking hack job - what a dirt ball. I can't believe how bad Illinois plays basketball, just junk yard garbage. They need a new coach and less thug-like players. Not sure they will win any more B1G games this season. Not impressed.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:16 PM ^
They are a bunch of trash players. I hate when little bastards like that get to play sports on the big stages. No class.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
c'mon. one bad foul and the entire team is trash? did you see any of the others run down the court and follow-up with cheap shots? no. i guarantee those old cincy teams would have.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:22 PM ^
Win anymore B1G games? I think they'd have to have a single win for that to be possible
January 10th, 2019 at 10:38 PM ^
They will upset someone that I can guarantee. Hopefully msu when trash meets trash. Both coaches have similar personalities lol

Great interview of Coach B by Bill Raftery just a moment ago. I think Beilein is enjoying himself as much or more than ever this season, ever since recovering from his off-season health issues that took basketball away from him for a short spell.

Saw some good things tonight. Illinois is a team full of little bitches. Hard to play a clean game against them.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:21 PM ^
I don't know the makeup of their current team, but they usually have some pretty tough kids from Chicago.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
I realized why they cause so many TO. They play very wild and try to rough you up becuase they don’t have the players to go stride for stride. Great win!!
January 11th, 2019 at 6:54 AM ^
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that also part of Brad Underwood’s system? They try to go fast as possible.
I remember that being the case when we played his OK State team in the tournament two years ago.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:18 PM ^
Nice win, although it made me nervous the entire time, I don’t think we ever trailed in the game.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:20 PM ^
Yeah, it was wire-to-wire. And honestly, it never really got that close (well, Illinois did cut the lead to five for an instant).
They made that one run in the second half, and Michigan immediately responded really strongly after a timeout.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:20 PM ^
They didn’t. Started the game with an 8-0 run.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:21 PM ^
That Dosunmu gent had a near death experience at the end there, he didn't seem to realize it though. Reminded me of the Dark Night Rises when the little snively guy is yelling at Bane and he puts his hand on his shoulder and says, "Do you feel in charge"?

You know things aren’t bad when you cover on the road and people complain about an outcome. I believe the NW game, only game by single digits? If so, incredible.
Probs to Teske, Z, and Livers. They played well while Poole, Matthews, and Iggy just sort of were ok at best.
Z is so good for a dude that can’t really shoot.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:24 PM ^
No complaints from me - I liked what I saw tonight. Tough road win with your stars having an off night.
Nothing but rainbows and sunshine - Go Blue, keep it up!
January 10th, 2019 at 10:26 PM ^
Matthews was a net positive despite his poor shot selection. Grabbed several offensive boards, played great defense, and had several easy dunks.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:35 PM ^
Um he made 2 three pointers and was 2-2 from the free throw line.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:37 PM ^
western michigan was by 8. Their guard was destroying.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:39 PM ^
You know things aren’t bad when you cover on the road and people complain about an outcome.
Also: when your record is 16-0.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:28 PM ^
This team really plays up/down to opponents. Poole with one of the worst games he’s played in awhile. That said, another comfortable win. This team is just so well rounded.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:54 PM ^
Good teams bring out the best in their opponents. The constant is Michigan keeps winning. Illinois is much better than their record would indicate and Michigan controlled the game from the start.
January 10th, 2019 at 10:34 PM ^
16-4 against the Illini in the last 20...unbelievable! Go Blue!

Great game
