At the end lets take the road less traveled: the high road. Unless you want to get a panel of all the transfers together & identify the central theme of all the departures & since that will not happen let them speculate. Be blessed

Thanks. If I'd heard that after Michigan went into Cbus & beat the undefeated buckeyes AGAIN in '96, I'm afraid I'd have said "Don't let the door hit ya" to Chas.

Now, knowing how the following year and decade played out I'd say "You got a problem with Charles fucking Woodson you better get your head out of your ASS Lloyd!!!"

I am suddenly hoping I'm not having that same hindsight about JH & Aubrey Solomon down the road!

So what has the million dollar staff done to respond.  Its all about management initially ... then you play the games.

So I just paid my massive PSA.  Can we win one big game?

At the same time, I do not like kids that hate competition, express zero facts, and quit on their commitments.  Guess its how you are raised.

If there's something going on, then say it. The fact that none of these players, or parents get into specifics, is an issue. Perhaps being cryptic is all they have. Maybe if they come out and say the real reason, it will put themselves in a bad light.

We all remember the exchange between Harbaugh, and Wilton Speight. When he basically told him something like, "I'm telling you the right way to do it."  "If you don't like it then go somewhere else."  Harbaugh is tough on players. He demands a great deal. If you're not onboard, then don't let the door hit you on the way out. He doesn't care. He's not going to kiss a player's ass. Some of today's young men, especially those who've been told since they were kids, that they are the greatest... have problems handling that.

I have no problem with this, but when it starts to really limit our ability to pull recruits and to retain players then something has to be done.

I'm all for making players work hard and Jim being tough on them, but not to the point that guys actively don't want to come here. I get what you're saying, but at a certain point your idea is just dumb--we'd be losing out on a lot of good players (and, as a result, still losing to guys like OSU and ND) simply to be able to say we don't hand players everything.

That's when we have 8-5 years like last year. Nobody wants that.

Wasn't Walker the kid who needed a year to get his grades up to par?  So rather than boot his ass they gave him a redshirt year, and most likely a lot of academic help.  How many 'football schools' would have done all that vs booting him and giving his scholarship to the next stud recruit?

Let’s all unclutch our respective pearls for a minute. What could possibly be so bad for those guys?  “We think we out-played the guys in front of us but still didn’t start.” When a Bredeson or DPJ bolt, then you’re on to something. I get that Solomon was in line to start, but he had that odd recruitment. Whatever.

Tweets from a guy who wasn't good enough to crack our DL rotation, the mother of a player transferring and a tweet from DURING THE LAST GAME from a guy who didn't wanna go to class and probably should've stayed committed to OSU where players like that flourish.

Typical Shawn thread.

This reminds me of when I was a kid. We would go to one of my aunts houses so all the sisters could sit and play canasta and gossip.

Did you see that Carla didn’t wave at me in church last Sunday?

Yup, I heard she didn’t make Ted his favorite pot roast dinner on Sunday too.

Did you see the mailman had to bring a package inside her house the other day? Very strange...

I think she’s cheating on Ted with the mailman.

All the signs are there.

Poor Ted.

Quinn Nordin also liked Hudsons tweet

On the surface it looks like some salty bitches who feel they got cheated out of playing time. But Solomon makes it more confusing because he got all the playing time he wanted

If it was something REALLY BAD the players would say what it was.

For everyone who dislikes the OP you need to realize he gets a thrill every time one of you attack him and call him a troll, Maizen, etc. He clearly lives to  stir shit up. So, my advice is to try and ignore him. Who cares if he posts consistently negative views about the program? He's one random dude. Resist the urge to reply. He will eventually get bored and find another outlet.

I just think it has to be Jim. I don't say that at all lightly, but look at his entire tenure and look at all the weird, random departures of both good players (Solomon, Hudson, Anthony) and good coaches (Wheatley, Enos).

He's the common denominator and, as much as I like Jim, if he's really preventing us from getting/retaining good recruits and good coaches consistently then he has to be shown the door. Immediately. Because never again will OSU and MSU both look this vulnerable--the BIG10 is ours for the taking and we need to seize it, with or without Jim.

Funny thing Kareem Walker's Twitter has clips and pics of him in the Maize and Blue.  Seems like if something in the program was rotten, he'd want to disassociate himself with it.

"Reminiscent of Ohio State's 2015 class, which lost 11 players within two years for various reasons".

Weve lost 8 from our 2017 class so far

Largely agree with the contingent that says let's not get too worked up, transfers happen everywhere, etc.

But to attack OP for delivering bad news (even if that's their specialty it seems) is some back asswards thinking. Gotta acknowledge issues as they surface, not push them deep down. Besides, what are forums for if not debate!

Denial is a helluva drug and sadly, that's how we get to 2-16 against those rivals over the past 2 decades ?

The tweet from his mom is absolute jibberish.  The apple clearly didn't fall too far from the tree.  Is there any surprise he doesn't share a last name with his mom?

Been a coach for a long time, and it's been said coaches (and probably any boss/leader type) will pick up 4-8 new "enemies" a year. Each one of us cannot possibly be a person everyone else will endear themselves to.

I suspect Harbaugh is not a "transactional" coach; rather he seems to be really interested in molding and shaping men for the long haul. Thus, he is perhaps more "transformational" in the macro. These trips the team takes is impressive and I'd send my sons to that kind of university, knowing they were not only getting the benefit of being a part of something bigger than themselves, but also because it wasn't just about football.

Sport is a vehicle. We all get wrapped up in the Saturdays, the UFR, the Horror, and all things related to Michigan sport ballers. But it's still a vehicle, a bus. Some guys aren't comfortable in that type of culture - a culture where accountability and merit manifest. Human nature, to a large extent doesn't like accountability. Think of our own reactions to being held accountable.

I'm not inferring it's all roses inside the program; heck, I'm probably one of the more frustrated "fans" with Harbaugh. But I think it's Ok to point out something may be amiss and also point out it's a pretty solid privilege right now to be on Michigan's football team because of the opportunity for more than football existing.

TL;DR - Coaches are always going to have detractors, from 11U baseball to Pro Sport balling.

This is just the state of college football now. A highly recruited player thinks he deserves more playing time and once they see some adversity they want to transfer. It happens at every school.

I have no idea what to make of college football right now. Transfers are easy and coaches move around all of the time, even within the conference. How that translates to roster management is very different, too. Since many of these guys have been scouted for nearly half a decade before they get on campus, the coaches, trainers, nutritionists, specialists, counselors, and everybody else has targets and projections for them. Are the days gone of letting talent marinate for a few years and building a team off of 4th and 5th year guys with leadership and experience? Does it even matter so long as you are winning?

Just seems weird with so many Michigan players choosing to not play in the bowl instead of looking at it dearly as their last game in the Michigan uniform. Then again, I have never played college football and don't have millions at stake.

I need to put the rumors to rest, I will not be transferring my fandom.  Family members will not be tweeting on my behalf.

My decision is final.

Hey guys long time lurker never really comment......

I agree with some posters that this is the current state of college football. All these kids are year to year free agents and If their needs aren't being met, they up and leave. But this is also the current state of our country as well "If it is too tough, just give up and walk away and talk shit about it later". As a country we have molded into this culture where everyone gets a trophy regardless of effort or time put into said sport. We have become soft and these kids aren't being taught proper lessons on how to handle adversity.

No where in my post did I state I was hurt. If you will not bring anything constructive to this discussion move along as I will not get into a petty argument with you. If you want to talk about facts, stats, etc. then i'll gladly have that discussion. But starting your post with "why are you so hurt" is just a bad attempt to try and rile someone up. I'm sorry but tonight you have failed at this.

It takes a certain lack of self-awareness to say:

when someone took issue with this:

Again, if you have "facts and stats" about toughness and the increase in participation medals sales recently, then have at it.

Fine, I'll get off your damn lawn.

I'm going to ignore the immense number of (probably correct) assumptions I can make about you and your feelings on a wide range of topics based on the nature of this post and just say that questioning the toughness and passion of a generation of people based on their personal decisions is incredibly myopic and says a hell of a lot more about the speaker than the target of his ire.
