Good info - beat the Buckeyes!

I never like to celebrate a kid getting injured, but hey, screw it, WOO HOO!

Don't be a shithead.

This is not OT. Georgia would bounce us from playoffs. I'm convinced of this now.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
There's zero doubt of that, in my mind.
Georgia would have, by far, the "most impressive win" (Ala., who would drop to #4 at worst) while ours would be (knock on wood) OSU, who would be somewhere in the #12-#15 range. That would suddenly become the most important factor to the committee.
Then, calls for "you can't keep the conference champ from the best conference* in America!" out of the playoff would be deafening; and they sure as heck aren't keeping Alabama out the playoff. That's two from the SEC, ND and then Clemson.
That said, this would be debate would be a nice problem to have -- beat Ohio State, then I will worry about this.
*Not actually the best conference

You're forgetting to mention the constant braying there will be (from the SEC) about how much Northwestern sucks and how our CCG is a joke.

Ok, cool. Hook em.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:01 PM ^
Doesn't matter. A non-champ, 12-1 Alabama will not be in the playoffs. Take off the tin foil hats...
November 19th, 2018 at 2:08 PM ^
Disagree. Bill Connelly said the exact opposite on his podcast last night.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:24 PM ^
Good thing Bill Connelly and Warm Cockles aren't on the committee then. Whew.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
It's not just Bill. It is every single college football talking head. The committee doesn't care about getting the most deserving teams. They only want the "best" teams and Bama looks the part. They will come up with any excuse they need to put Bama in unless they lose both the Iron Bowl and to Georgia.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
The committee has been setting up Bama to be a lock for months. With putting a 2 loss LSU in front of a bunch of teams and justifying that as saying they’re ranking based on being the ‘best’ teams, Bama is basically a lock as a 1-loss. The SEC title game is just an exhibition for them.
November 19th, 2018 at 2:52 PM ^
There's no doubt in my mind. Tua being injured doesn't help either. If he's less than 100% against Georgia or gets knocked out early they will use that as justification to keep Bama 4th.
November 19th, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
It's so stupid, Bama won't lose to Georgia but if they do, are they really anything special? Bama beat LSU. LSU isn't shit. Losing to Georgia means they lost to number 5. Michigan lost to number 3 a very long time ago. End of story.
November 20th, 2018 at 8:49 AM ^
I don't disagree with you but it's where we stand. Unless the committee actually values the most deserving teams Bama is getting in. Losing your conference when there are multiple 1 loss conference champs and undefeated teams should knock you out and probably does in most years.

Feel bad for the kid. Don't feel bad for Georgia.
Really don't feel bad for the playoff committee and their aspirations to have two SEC teams at the expense of Michigan.

I don't see where it says he's out for a month? I'm just seeing most likely out for this week against GT.

Reddit Georgia commenters have said that's what their insiders are saying

Reading stuff like this just reminds me even more how much this idiotic playoff format needs to die.
Note: not mad at OP--he is right that this is probably good for us.
