Normally not relevant but considering UGA is the only team that could keep a potential 12-1 Michigan team out of the playoffs, it seems like a big deal before playing triple option GT and Bama.

There's zero doubt of that, in my mind.

Georgia would have, by far, the "most impressive win" (Ala., who would drop to #4 at worst) while ours would be (knock on wood) OSU, who would be somewhere in the #12-#15 range. That would suddenly become the most important factor to the committee.

Then, calls for "you can't keep the conference champ from the best conference* in America!" out of the playoff would be deafening; and they sure as heck aren't keeping Alabama out the playoff. That's two from the SEC, ND and then Clemson.

That said, this would be debate would be a nice problem to have -- beat Ohio State, then I will worry about this.

*Not actually the best conference

I don't disagree with you but it's where we stand. Unless the committee actually values the most deserving teams Bama is getting in. Losing your conference when there are multiple 1 loss conference champs and undefeated teams should knock you out and probably does in most years.

Feel bad for the kid. Don't feel bad for Georgia.

Really don't feel bad for the playoff committee and their aspirations to have two SEC teams at the expense of Michigan.

Reading stuff like this just reminds me even more how much this idiotic playoff format needs to die.

Note:  not mad at OP--he is right that this is probably good for us.
