OT: Chick-fil-A [LOCKED]

Submitted by The Granddaddy on November 3rd, 2018 at 8:50 PM

How is there no franchise in Ann Arbor yet? The social culture / climate would in no way outnumber the people who just love Chick-fil-A.  Get it together.  I’m hungry.

You actually think the University of Michigan doesn't actively and systematically discriminate?  How many Conservative professors are there compared to Liberal?  How many employees at U of M voted for Hillary over Trump?  How would it go for a professor looking to get tenure if he/she openly proclaimed they held Conservative beliefs.

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I think all they claim to be "experts" at are at making chicken sandwiches.  All they care about is being experts in chicken sandwiches and people buying their chicken sandwiches.  I didn't realize they had a political agenda.  They aren't open on Sundays, and thus people have asked why they aren't open on Sundays.  This has made the public aware of why they aren't open on Sundays.

Funny thing is when I have gone there and ordered an original chicken sandwich, fries and a drink...the only thing I've gotten is a sandwich, fries and a drink.  No pamphlet has been given to me.  No sermon or lecture.  No 10 ways to hate gay people.  Just a sandwich, fries, drink and a "Its my pleasure to serve you".

Give me a LBGTQ restaurant that sells badass chicken sandwiches and great customer service that doesn't shove their political agenda down my throat and just gives me great food, great service at a reasonable price and I would gladly be a faithful patron to them to.  Its about the food and service Bro.

No, that's not true, bro. They appear to believe to know better how you or I live, bro. That's why they approve and disapprove of some lifestyles, bro. It's also why they stay closed on Sundays, bro. So yeah, bro, they think they know better than others, bro. Bro, bro, bro...

And you are talking out of both sides of your mouth Bro.  You are a hypocrite Bro. You appear to know better than them, and that they should live like you Bro.  That they should just listen to you Bro and start living by what you think is right Bro.  Because your talking out of both sides of your mouth Bro and are making one lousy argument Bro.

Correct.  My grammar is bad.  My apologies.

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth.  You're doing EXACTLY what you find so repulsive in Chic-fil-A.  You're imposing your beliefs on someone else and saying they are wrong in their beliefs and should change them and think like you.

Who is trying to make you eat there?  Certainly I'm not.  Chic-fil-A, like any capitalist enterprise, advertises and wants as many people to use their product or service.  I don't think they are targeting anyone who disagrees in principal to the religious views of their CEO to make them eat there.

If you don't want to eat at Chic-fil-a that's great.  If eventually your viewpoint becomes the majority, then places like Chic-fil-A will go out of business.  Until then, the market has spoken, and most people move beyond the feelings they might have about a CEO's religious or political viewpoints and just want a quality product, great customer service and a fair price.

The overly tolerant left draws the line with those who have religious convictions and who won't stay open on Sundays.

Bring chick-fil-a to Ann Arbor and MAKE ANN ARBOR GREAT AGAIN- MAGA!

y’all are arguing about some stupid ass shit, the real issue here is the price of beef jerkey. What the fuck gives?? $7 for 3ozs of dried meat? Blow me Jack Links.

Well said. These are the real issues. I'll get you some bad ass venison jerky for free. Fresh out of my woods and fresh off my smoker. Just for being a fellow michigan fan like me.

To me, they are way overrated.  I am baffled as to how an average chicken sandwich and waffle fries create such a traffic hazard.  If you live near them like I do, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

No, I don’t really, because I live in Atlanta and there’s always a massive line at every Chick-fil-A full of people who live near them. You acknowledged this yourself. Don’t be the contrarian just to be a prick, they’re loved the world over because they have a great product and great service.

Why are we arguing about Chick-fil-A on the night of one of Michigan's best wins the last few years...

That said....I like to go to Chick-fil-A. Staff's friendly and the food is solid for this category. I live in a place that's like 80% liberal and the Chick-fil-A is *always* packed. It's a restaurant chain, I don't think most people care about the personal beliefs of the owners or the staff. I was at a diner tonight, waitress was nice, and honestly I don't care if she's a Satanist or a Southern Baptist..food is good, I'll be back.

People can say whatever they want, but I never experienced CFA until they put one in Toledo (technically Sylvania, OH) about 7 years ago - was the only one around for for at least 30 miles.  It caught on like wildfire.  Why?  Great food, amazing service, spotlessly clean and family friendly to a fault.  Slightly more expensive than most fast food, but most people seem to approve regardless.  I used to go to Wendy's all the time for their Spicy Chicken sandwich.  After trying CFA's, I've never gone back to Wendy's for chicken (their burgers are still decent IMO).  I have no problem with the religious conviction of the owners - it has no bearing on who can work or eat there.  If it bothers some, they can eat wherever else they like.  Now there are 5+ stores in the greater Toledo area, and more to come from what I've heard.  It seems to me they are doing something right - even if only 6 days a week.
