OT: Chick-fil-A [LOCKED]

Submitted by The Granddaddy on November 3rd, 2018 at 8:50 PM

How is there no franchise in Ann Arbor yet? The social culture / climate would in no way outnumber the people who just love Chick-fil-A.  Get it together.  I’m hungry.

Everyone was bitching about Cedar Point allowing a CFA in the park, and claimed that it would fail.

LOL, it’s a 50 minute wait just to get in the damn door now because it’s so popular.  Great food, even better service, profit.

Love it.

Chick Fil A is very picky when giving awarding a franchise, and if you get one you are only allowed one store.  They want their franchisees to be very involved in their store and community.  Part of the reason they are renowned for their customer service.

Actually not factual on them only allowing someone to "own" one store.  There are people who have more than one.  Not super common, but there are people who have more than one store.  My buddy "owns" a Chic-fil-a and I have asked him every question in the book.

You got $750k burning a hole in your pocket, go nuts.

btw, I'm pissed that there is no Trader Joe's in Toledo...best store ever.

I like how prejudice is cool for some people when it's directed against the correct outgroup. There are upvotes for it, too.

Seriously, those of you who think that's what people in church are, come to mine. You'll be welcomed as a friend. Might not agree with me, but you'll be surprised at what you find.

Id be willing to bet you that the business owners of at least 50% of the businesses you frequent have a belief that you don't agree with. You're just virtue signaling because it's a chic-fil-a was a hot story at once and that's what virtue signalers do.

Why do people change the definition of "homophobia"?  Homophobia clearly means to "be afraid of homosexuals".  Why be ignorant and use a word incorrectly?

The Orthodox Christian, Orthodox Jewish, and Orthodox Muslim view is that these groups believe sex should be with in the confines of marriage between a man and a woman.  Im not saying anyone has to think this is correct.  Also, Im not making a political statement or religious statement.  Just stating that in no way shape or form are these groups "Homophobic".  They are not afraid of homosexuals.  They disagree with their lifestyle (in the same way that homosexuals would disagree with their lifestyle and viewpoints), but that doesn't mean they hate them or are afraid of them.

What organized religions are you talking about?  Episcopalians, the majority at least including the head of the church, are LBGTQ friendly.  Also, large segments of Presbyterians and Lutherans are LBGTQ friendly.  Furthermore, the majority of Methodist Churches are LGBTQ friendly.

You really sound ignorant making an overarching statement that "Organized Religions" "Do everything they can to actively deny full civil rights for gays".  That is just categorically false as the objective facts above show.

I may live in the shithole known as Columbus, but we have like 20 of them here.

Great food, for sure.

Stop being homophobic and I'd go often. Frankly, the fact that your CEO goes to church every Sunday and hates "sin" don't mean shit to me or 250 million other Americans. Letting your personal opinions inform your marketing strategy is stupid.

Oh, and since I'm getting down votes now, let's do this shit. Hey, chicken sandwich-making fuckheads: I don't give fuck what you think about gay people or anyone else. Your ability to make good sandwiches could not be less relevant to me. This is like celebrating the guy that changes the oil in my car because he "changes good oil." Fuck off. Keep your business and its success out of my life and that of all others, because making chicken sandwiches doesn't make you expert anything else...

You're correct, I made a typo. Now, would you care to compare resumes, paychecks, or any other metric of life success? hahahahaha...

Listen, Chik-fil-a is good food. Go for it. Who cares. I hope they lose all their business until they stop spouting anti-gay hatred. Other than that, fuck them (and you). :-)

Small-minded? Are you serious? Really man, I don't care what you or anyone else thinks, but a business that systematically and intentionally discriminates against anyone is not OK with me. Gay, straight, white, black, brown, whatever. It's just that simple. So, you know, take a stand against injustice, and you try to be better...

Does U of M ever have trouble with the issues you've discussed? Do you address it this vehemently?

You are responding in a way that suggests intoxication. I could be wrong, but you might be advised to cut bait and sleep on it. Just some friendly advice.

Congrats on the Ph.D btw.
