Same Old Lions vs. BradyPats
Lions don't want to screw up their prime draft position tonight. They will put up a valiant effort but likely fade in the 2nd half.
Patricia appears to be a horrible game coach. Going for the FG when you had a great drive going and only needed 6 inches for a first down is questionable at best.

Please don't draft Gary or Shea. For the love of God
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:43 PM ^
I wouldn't wish that on any player I like
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:44 PM ^
Lions need another DE that can get to the QB or a Safety that can knock your head off
September 24th, 2018 at 11:05 AM ^
I've heard about this guy Josh Martellus who is a pretty hard-hitting safety.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
The Lions have Stafford - they aren't drafting Shea, or any other QB until the 6th round. But Gary and Winovich are both on the board...
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
I’ve heard that 6th round quarterbacks are occasionally successful.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^
believe Rudock is still on the practice squad too.
September 24th, 2018 at 12:15 AM ^
Gary or Winovich can get it
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:59 PM ^
Lions always draft an injured TE or RB in the 1st round. LJ Scott could be in play.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:44 PM ^
Why
do
we
watch?
we all need professional help.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:50 PM ^
we're masochists. that or we're just born into Lions fandom and can't not watch. i just don't get upset if they lose. i joke with a lot of people that the Lions are the Washington Generals of the NFL: paid to lose. not only are they the Best Losing team but the game can actually end and Detroit can figure out a way to lose after the clock hits 00:00 like the Green Bay Hail Mary a couple years ago.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
"...we're just born into Lions fandom and can't not watch."
This is it in a nutshell, and its what I tell everyone when they ask who I root for. If we could only get rid of the nutshell, throw it in the trash or something...
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:56 PM ^
They seemingly invent new ways to lose that were never conceived - from simple ways like Sterling Sharpe not being covered in a prevent situation to the refs inventing the Calvin Johnson rule to create another loss, Jim Schwartz getting a penalty for an illegal coaches challenge, roughing the passer on failed Hail Mary, etc. You can't make this shit up!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^
XM. I just moved to the U.P. I’m surrounded by Packer Backers. Thinkin bout converting and why you dont root for the pack?
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:06 PM ^
i was born a lions fan. (is this like being born a crack addict, or maybe in an orphanage?) however, as i do proudly claim my yooper roots, i can tell you that i love my yooper-packer buddies and enjoyed my visits to lambeau - 96/97 NFC championship game v. carolina. i will root for the packers, just not over the lions. simple as that.
and can somebody please get us the old, barry sanders era lions uni's back? i hate this new version.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:13 PM ^
i'll watch the packers, vikings, patriots, and usually whatever the night game is on sunday/monday/thursday. don't really care who wins except i don't like to see tom brady lose but i think that is mainly because i cheer for any Michigan player in the NFL to do well.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
Dude, just stop. It is soooo incredibly liberating to fire the Detroit Lions, and be able to read the DetNews online on Monday's to see just how bad he Lions screwed the pooch the day before. That sad franchise has lost me and they won't make a dime off me until the day after they manage to win a playoff game
Fire the Lions! Don't condone and support their ineptitude any more.
September 23rd, 2018 at 11:25 PM ^
Because sometimes games like tonight happen. Granted, it’s like once a decade, but it feels good when it happens.
September 24th, 2018 at 5:51 AM ^
You see it as a great victory to celebrate. I see it as that little glimmer of hope that the Lions give you before crushing your soul by somehow failing in a new and insane way.
Dont be fooled. It's a trap.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:45 PM ^
Chris Collinsworth just called Graham Glasgow a veteran Center. Man I'm getting old!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:46 PM ^
Patriots have a really bad d-line. Their back seven seems fine, but they get no pressure at all.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:47 PM ^
They should've gone for it. Running right through the Pats tonight.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
liking this johnson kid running angry out of the backfield.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:52 PM ^
But then again you should probably take the points any chance you get
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
Come on replay official! I have Stafford and Golladay starting tonight.
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^
That was quite a celebration by Galladay.
Chucked the ball towards the stands 0.3 seconds after the ball crossed the goal line!
September 23rd, 2018 at 8:59 PM ^
I like Patricia at least trying to take the refs to task on various calls. Say what you will, but Caldwell was not good at that.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:08 PM ^
excellent launch of the challenge flag too
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
OL is playing great. Patricia is out coaching his old boss so far tonight. Loved the flea flicker with how our run game is setting things up.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
This is bizarre. This is like Rutgers having a 13-0 lead on Alabama.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:19 PM ^
They needed it to be 21-0 or at least 17-0 with what Brady is capable of. Stafford doesn't play well with a lead either so the 2nd half will probably go opposite of the 1st
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:19 PM ^
Oh, don’t you worry. We’ve seen this dance a million times before....
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:26 PM ^
Actually we havent. We never see the Lions play well in the first half
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:27 PM ^
oh, this dance might be even more cruel than normal - 13-0 with 2 min left in the first half. actually looking like a football team for more than a play or two. like the godfather III, 'they pull you back in!!'
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:23 PM ^
HEY! Don't make fun of Buttgers...
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:24 PM ^
Wil be 13-7 pretty soon and 14-13 Pats before you know it
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^
Nobody fall for this shit!
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:34 PM ^
A 13-3 halftime lead will make the loss more fun to watch.
How will the Lions pants themselves this time? Tune in to find out!
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:39 PM ^
Stafford throws a pick 6 and is ejected for targeting as he attempts to tackle the Patriot defender at the goal line. I don't think they have used that one yet.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:41 PM ^
Or a fumbled snap exchange on a QB kneel that a Pats player picks up and runs in for the winning TD as time expires.
The possibilities!
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:45 PM ^
Game tied with 15 second left, Loins with the ball.
Prater lines up for the 30 yard field goal and kicks it 81 yards thru the wrong uprights.
Pats win on a safety, 22-20.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:41 PM ^
Seen this happen way too many times before. I fully expect to see a score lik 24–17 Pats when I wake up tomorrow.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:46 PM ^
Haha, classic Loins getting two safeties in the second half and still lose.
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:53 PM ^
And so it begins...
September 23rd, 2018 at 9:54 PM ^
Stafford throws a bad pick and the Lions give them a cheap 15 yards on a penalty
September 23rd, 2018 at 10:00 PM ^
So the fall is already on its way...
September 23rd, 2018 at 10:01 PM ^
Momentum turned when we kicked the 2nd FG to go up 13-0 instead of scoring to make it 17-0.
September 23rd, 2018 at 10:01 PM ^
I was a bit anxious at the half, having started James White and the Pats defense.
Boy, do I feel better now!
September 23rd, 2018 at 10:04 PM ^
And now Stafford gets hauled down, right after the TD.
Look out below...
September 23rd, 2018 at 10:10 PM ^
BOOM!!
