Daxton Hill Commits To Michigan Comment Count

Brian

Hot damn:

Hill is a five star ranked #12 overall on the composite; Michigan beat out Alabama, Alabama, and Alabama for his commitment. Also Oklahoma State and Oklahoma amongst a wide array of other schools who didn't make Hill's top five. Hill's a safety who has a 4.3 40 listed as a "verified result" on his 24/7 page and promises to be the kind of multi-purpose tool who really makes Don Brown's defense sing, the kind of gentleman who can cover James Proche in the slot and come down to bust up run games.

Full Hello post tomorrow.

Can he play this Saturday?

Also, if some of the draft eligible guys come back next year the defense should be lights out.

I'm also very pumped about this, but I think you could put this easily as low as Harbaugh's 5th biggest recruit:

-Gary (no question)

-Patterson (See: last 10 years of QB play)

-DPJ (#12 overall, in-state, big position of need)

-Hinton (Might play OT???? Also, might bring his younger bro who definitely looks like an OT)

I get the argument. I go the other way, because this occurred when we had less recruiting momentum and with a star way outside our backyard. I get Hinton and Solomon being from GA, but we've done a ton of camps there.

To me two of biggest are this year: Charbonnet and Hill. Way outside of UM footprint. Top skill position players (easier to rate properly compared to linemen)

Visited the blog right now and saw Daxton Hill commitment. NICE!

I get that few kids do care about academics (kudos...there is NO comparison between Bama and Michigan re: academics - we kick their rear in that category), but I also think continuity matters. This season remains to be seen, but there was an earlier thread on Wisconsin Oline pipeline, which we seem to be setting up now (coming out of the hole that was end of Hoke years and 2015 class/2016 Tackle less class). Seasons may be rough but if we just stick with Harbaugh a bit longer, me thinks it pays dividends.

Stay the course!

Some doubt occasionally creeps into the back of my mind in my worst moments but I am still firmly in the camp that given time Harbaugh will win multiple NC's here. Building consistent OLines can take some time and thats been our biggest weakness.

I am not that confident but all I want is to beat OSU with some consistency again and to win road games. I agree, he is trying to build a machine which takes time. One trick/player teams are flashy but suck vs elite teams (Lamar Jackson led Louisville...some random stud RB snd rest sucky team etc )

Hell yeah!

Now we just need to hold on. Another 8-4 year while Alabama marches to the playoffs (again) won't do us any favors with keeping him in the fold.

The recruiting game is quite the deal-and clearly there is much you do not understand. At this level every kid believes they have the ability to be a difference-maker. Michigan is an elite national brand that these kids all know about and Michigan gets tons of pub for everything-good, bad and in-different...in their eyes there is no bad pub.

So if Michigan ends up with Harrison, Smith, Karlaftis and Hinton on the DL I am curious what your line will be...better start working on it because it could happen...I don't expect it too but it very well could end up that way.

Hey scared chicken, you wish you had M degree. Off you go to delivering pizza

Also Meyer would never land this kid because- straight from his dads mouth- looking for school which doesn't put winning above all. Your school already showed its colors as a while institution a few weeks ago.

OSU = football and nothing else.

Really excited for what, by all reports, sounds like another hard-working, academically-focused and high character young man, not to mention his eye-popping work on the football field and overall talent. The recruiting wins over Alabama are to be savored. Great work by the staff to bring in an elite talent and address a position of need.
