The team just did not look like they were in the frame of mind it was a real, regular season game. Hopefully they will come out ready next week, and completely dominate Western, and win by 50.

I don't think he was lying but I don't doubt that the battle for #2 was extremely close and he saw enough during the game that solidified McCaffrey as the backup.

I heard they were even. Peterson has more experience, so I think Harbaugh gave him the nod. If Peterson has a slight knee sprain,he may be limited the next few weeks and DMC may get more snaps with the 2nd and 1st strings and win the backup spot.

I could not watch the game live since I was at work. But I did watch it on youtube and it was not the entire disaster I was thinking after reading the board. The D made some dumb penalties that kept drives going. Plus the lucky pass catch that should have been knocked away or INT. ND OL looked as bad as ours but their QB used his speed to dunk inside the rush. What happened to our speedy LB, they should have taken away those inside runs. The offense drove the ball down into ND territory often but a stupid mistake cost them TDs and a FG. The only time our QB had no time to throw is when ND put 6 men on the line and we had an empty backfield. You could always see that wide ND DE ready for a speed rush with no one to block him. They at least needed a full back in the back field to pick up the speed rush. I predicted ND would win on a last second TD but did not expect the D to give up 21 points in the first half. Oh well move on and improve.

What stood out to me the most is that it looked like the team did not come out ready to play in a real game. It looked like they were not mentally ready to throw down in a real game. It took until the 2nd half to see that kind of play.
And yeah, the penalties hurt. I saw something from Chase Winovich I didn't think I'd see.
