Ozone column about Urban Meyer after suspension decision

Submitted by crom80 on

I have always enjoyed Michigan Mondays articles from the Ozone and was pretty much the only OSU football blog I actively read.

The author Tom Orr basically repeats Brian's previous post, "It is Meyer’s job to know." and is quite critical about the report of findings from the committee. However, the author doesn't quite argue specifically how Meyer should have been fired. I guess it's really hard for an OSU football fan to imagine a Meyer-less team. He did end the column with how Meyer finally lost the benefit of the doubt, I wonder how the tone of his writing will change as the season progresses.

Even with this pretty subdued column the few comments that did show up is now questioning Orr's 'loyalty' to OSU football... wow.

I can't even imagine the number of times I would've been fired from my job had I:

  • gone to a strip club on a business trip with colleagues and prospects (this sort of thing is explicitly against our code of conduct)
  • Perpetrated any kind of discovered domestic violence charges/arrests would be grounds for termination. The same can be said for osu: https://hr.osu.edu/wp-content/uploads/policy115.pdf
  • ordered and received sex toys to the office
  • Had sex with a colleague at the office

God, how much do I want to see some really damning revelation come out now?

If something really bad surfaced that forced them to fire him, this would all be worth it.

The attitude is that it's the job of everyone associated with the Ohio State program in any form to blindly protect Urban Meyer no matter what.

The question is never even asked if he did anything wrong.

The fact that he's accused of anything means he is innocent.

Truly Orwellian.

The degenerate Buckeye fans (there are many, perhaps rivaling Bama, but not all of them) are more upset because their kindred spirit Zach Smith was fired. If Zach can get fired for his behavior that really must have affected their inner subconscious and sense of self worth. I mean, what hope do they have left in life.
