Urban and OSU knew about the criminal trespass charge agains Zach Smith for weeks or months before firing him.

Then his wife filed a CIVIL restraining order against him and they fired him 3 days later.

Now why would OSU/Meyer not fire him when he’s charged with a crime but then fire him over a civil restraining order which the restrained person can contest?

The answer is quite simple to anyone without an agenda.  He was fired not because of the civil restraining order but because the media found out about 2015.  He was fired literally hours later they found out.

Of course, you’re perfectly free to believe he was fired over a civil restraining order, which he says is based on false information.  But he also said all of the other criminal allegations including the one he was formally charged with, were based on false information.  But then you’re left with the inescapable reality that OSU/Meyer fired a man they believe to be innocent just to avoid negative press.

Or, you might say, Smith was fired because, with the media explosion, he would be a distraction to the team, on balance.  Without judging the merits of the pending charges.  It was a firing that occurred after multiple discussions with Smith that he was on thin ice with the program and he would have to make extraordinary personal efforts to avoid confrontational situations with his ex-wife.

That response -- and I am merely positing it as a possible scenario -- is (a) reasonable; (b) not incriminating of Smith, and; (c) not incriminating of Meyer.

"Details like this are important"? Why is her mother's opinion important? Seems like you think that since her opinion is important to your agenda.

Her mom wasn't there. Apparently Courtney and her mom don't speak. This attempt at a "story" is nonsense thats designed to undermine the real issue. Which is that Zach Smith beat up his ex wife.

Wow.   That is some serious long term planning on her part to drop charges in 2009 and make ten more 911 calls from then until present day just to wait and drop the bombshell after Urban lies at the Big Ten Meeting.  I am impressed.

Yep.  She’s been planning on destroying Zach Smith and Urban Meyer for years.  Everyone knew it.  Zach knew, his mom knew, EVERYONE knew.

And not only was she gonna take them down, she was gonna make all kinds of criminal complaints to the cops in order to get him fired or, even worse, sent to prison.

But through all of it, Zach stayed with her.  He’s practically a saint. Sure, most of us would back away from a person who vowed to destroy us but not Zach.  It’s because he has such a big heart.

And i know it might be strange that Zach’s mom knew her boy was being framed and didn’t bother to say anything for nearly three weeks.  And it might also seem strange that both of these moms somehow think Zach was going to abuse Courtney that he would do it in front of them so they’d know if it really happened.

But there’s really nothing to see here.

How long until this thread is deleted because it doesn’t fit the UM social media lynch mob mentality? Urban is staying, sorry

I wouldn’t doubt he’s staying.  I’d be surprised if he does go.  Still, he knowingly kept an abusive man on his staff and that is a real bad look, despite whether or not he followed proper protocols or whether there is cause to fire him.

unless your point is “there is no evidence Zach was abusive” ... which is ridiculous

The disgusting thing is that OSU fans don't give a shit about Smith, in fact most are happy that he's been fired.  They're just trying to convince people that what he did wasn't so bad now as a way of clearing Urban's name.  Truly despicable behavior from a fanbase that I thought could sink no lower.

He could have, and should have, fired him. If he reported it and Gene Smith did nothing, then it was up to Urban to do the right thing, which he didn't. Then he lied. That is why he will be fired.

(Spoiler: he kept him around because he knows where Urban's bodies are buried. Bagmen, coed banging at UF, etc.)

You’re one of those OSU fans in the Mark Titus article.  Don’t care about how it makes the school look.  You care about wins.  Don’t care that it is a real real bad look for OSU to have a head football coach knowingly employ a wife beater as coach.

Literally everyone knew Smith was abusive to his wife.  It had been reported and known by bloggers, the school paper, etc.  That’s not opinion, but fact.

Nah man I think you’re the POS for shaming a head coach based on allegations because you don’t like the team he coaches. What’s even worse is you hide behind a fake moral compass and pretend like you care about the victim when you just care about how it affects your football team
