Maybe. But then again both Har augh and Brown have an established track record of finding low rated guys who turn out to be elite players. I'm not saying that formula works for everyone, but even if 3 or 4 of the lower rates guys turn out to be big impact players that changes the complete look of the class.

Assuming you are a Michigan graduate and know about probability and statistics :) -- since star ratings of high school players are decent but not perfect estimates of how good they will be as college players (i.e., there is noise in that measure), number of recruits matters as well as average star rating.  Think of this extreme example.  Team A recruits one five-star recruit.  Team B recruits 200 four-star recruits.  Which team is likely to have a better player out of its recruits?

It'd be nice if I could click the link from my phone but I cant because 3.0 is ass, my dude

There are a bunch of guys that are getting rating bumps for sure. And it’s for all the right reasons. There are also at least 2 possibly 3 that are getting bumped the other way. What’s important to me is we are going to have twice as many (probably 3 times) that are moving up than down.

This staff does an excellent job finding gems. Make no mistake about it.

A good coaching staff with any number of 3, 4, and 5 star recruits will challenge for a conference championship and will go toe to toe with anybody.   Harbaugh has 3 years of recruits, plus a 5 star QB so it all starts now.

Make no mistake about it. The difference between an ok class and an unbelievable one is how this team wins this year. If we kick a bunch of ass this year the top tier guys will flock more easily. Until then we’ll have to scrape and claw for all the best people we can. That being said, I really like how this coaching staff evaluates players. They are building something special. Go Blue!!

Harbaugh is building both depth and talent. Eventually he will win the B1G and reach the playoffs than the 5 stars will be coming in droves. Face it the elite players want to win a national championship and is the reason they go to Alabama, Oklahoma, OSU and Clemson. One day Harbaugh will get us there. The program is back on track and the trajectory is in the right direction no matter what the trolls have to say.

How many of Harbaugh's recruits have gotten into trouble over the years? At Michigan or Stanford.  Damn few.  How about Urban Meyer?  Too many to count .The truth is that the Bucknuts have different standards for their recruits than we do. Academics and personal character factor into the equation at Michigan.  I personally am glad that they do.  Michigan's program is what college football is supposed to look like .

Agree 100%. Michigan football does need to improve it's on-field performance but what Jim Harbaugh is doing with this team otherwise is exemplary...unparalleled. Strange as it is to hear myself say this (I must be mellowing with age) I would rather give up some wins for what this program is otherwise-under Harbaugh. I am so pleased with the maturity and thoughtfulness of the Michigan players.
