You want to see what it looks like to actually out players in a position to succeed? Watch this game.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
What you're watching is a far more complete football team with a much better quarterback. And having PSU at home doesn't hurt. It's just bizzarre you're somehow tying this game to Borges.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:01 PM ^
I'm nuts.
October 27th, 2013 at 12:51 AM ^
...I should put this under:
Ohio's OL has 3, 5th-year seniors and one 4th-year senior.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:10 PM ^
You really think Miller is a "much better quarterback" than Gardner?
October 26th, 2013 at 10:51 PM ^
I actually think they're really evenly matched. Part of the reason I think November will be really interesting.
October 26th, 2013 at 11:35 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 11:27 PM ^
You think it's close?
October 26th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
It's also possible...nah probable, OSU has superior talent than UM, especially in all classes that are not freshman. Specifically seniors and juniors. So whatever "schematic" they run...would work.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:50 PM ^
No. We rehash our in-game anger of yelling at our TV screens at Borges to throw the ball when PSU has 8-9 guys in the box. It's not saying in retrospect that we wish Borges would have attacked PSU differently. It's saying, see Al if you would have made some very simple adjustments and attacked the PSU defense in a manner that everyone is the country was calling for during the game we probably would have had similar results to the results OSU is currently having.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:50 PM ^
I don't understand why Michigan can't attack teams in a similar manner.
Indiana was the first game this year where our offense really attacked. Maybe the ND game.
Honest question, when is the last time Michigan blew out a decent team?
October 26th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
Define decent team. Ranked in the top ten? Top 20?
October 26th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
If not...top 15-20. And besides Nebraska (because I already mentioned them).
That said, I really don't want to define it by rankings because I'm sure we've handled an overrated Purdue, Minnesota, Northwestern type.
I'm talking a name. Someone people give a damn about. No one cares if we beat #17 Purdue 35-13.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:02 PM ^
I guess it would have to be 2006 Notre Dame, winning 47-21.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:08 PM ^
That's embarassing.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:04 PM ^
I did a little digging...
September 15, 2007 | 3:30 pm | Notre Dame* | Michigan Stadium • Ann Arbor, MI (Rivalry) | ABC | W 38–0 | 111,178 |

The only program more of a paper tiger the past 15 years than UM is ND. I would take any "chest beating" over beating ND with a lot of grains of salt. http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/reality-check-um-football-has-been-mediocre-blue-blood-standards-20-years
October 27th, 2013 at 12:59 AM ^
So you linked to a thread you previously started?
October 26th, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
Hoke's first year we handled Nebraska pretty good.
What about before that?
October 26th, 2013 at 9:58 PM ^
October 26th, 2013 at 10:01 PM ^
Kidding, but besides Nebraska. I remembered them above.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:51 PM ^
Yeah, that logic doesn't always work.
Last year, when we beat Purdue in West Lafayette 44-13 and then two weeks later, the Boilers gave the game away in the final minute to let OSU escape by 7 in Columbus, did OSU fans do the process of elimination and give up on THE GAME because of how we both did in those games?
The wounds still hurt from the PSU game. But this OSU/PSU game tonight will have nothing to do with what happens Thanksgiving weekend at the Big House.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
No game will have an impact on The Game. No game ever has or ever will. Anyone can always win.
I'm just tired of seeing us struggle and not execute vs. teams we should. And sure, there's always going to be let down games. That's why they're called "let down games." But they're too often the norm for Michigan.

Man the team speed on Oregon is sick... Their RBs can flat out fly.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:00 PM ^
Michigan has had higher rated recruiting classes than Oregon over the last 7 years, in total. /recrooooting.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:15 PM ^
Oregon's junior and senior classes are ranked higher than Michigan's.

October 26th, 2013 at 9:46 PM ^
Time to pour it on...
Oregon and Ohio are going for the throat. Sucks CFB and the BCS takes sportsmanship out of the game. These teams have no choice but to run up the score (not saying Oregon is doing that...they're only up 21 in the 3rd, but you know they're going to make this as ugly as possible)

October 26th, 2013 at 9:52 PM ^
For OSU this won't make a difference unless two of the teams in front of them lose. Oregon and Alabama could trip up based on there schedules although with the state of the SEC Bama doesn't look like it will. I don't see anyone on FSU's schedule who will have any shot at hanging with them.
Oregon will be in the top 2 if they win out. There is a 0% of them getting left out if they run the table.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:49 PM ^
South Carolina might actually get shut out.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
I don't think thats possible. SC has Clowney so... They still win, even if they lose. If you're not sure just check ESPN tomorrow, they'll show the the Smith hit 10 times to show you SC won.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:49 PM ^
OSU has now scored more points against PSU in one half than we could in a 4 OT game.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
I don't think they have scored more than we could. They have scored more than Al Borges play calling did. Big difference.

If only we had a dual threat QB as good as Braxton Miller to run similar plays like OSU, when we played PSU. Then , we might of had a chance....
October 26th, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
How many TDs is homefield advantage worth? Anyone?
October 26th, 2013 at 10:02 PM ^
They only did that because (a) they are lucky (b) the refs gave it to them and (c) they have a weak schedule. I read it on MGoBlog. It could never be due to superior players or better coaching. Nope.
October 26th, 2013 at 10:19 PM ^
That's not everyone's excuse.
It's okay to think MSU isn't a good team. I didn't think VT was a good team, in fact, I think MSU and VT are pretty much the exact same team. VT lost to Duke today. VT is #14 in the country.
DUKE. Duke hasn't beaten a ranked team since like 1994. I know they're better. But 1994. Almost 20 years ago.
But they were ranked #14. They had to be good, right?
No, sometimes you just have to go with what you see. Michigan was undefeated, but it wouldn't have upset me if anyone said Michigan wasn't a great team. We're not.
And I don't think too many people really believe in those 3 excuses. Maybe the drunk ones.
Lastly, Michigan didn't lose because any of those 3 things, or to having inferior players. They were out coached and that's why people haven't stopped bitching since. They just want to see players put in the best position to win. If they get smashed like Alabama did, the majority of fans tip their cap and shut up. Even some of the OSU loses, they sting, but some of those you just knew OSU was the better team on that day and Michigan gave them their best shot.
It's when Michigan doesn't give their best or isn't put in a position to give their best that drives us batshit crazy.
October 26th, 2013 at 9:56 PM ^
OK, PSU is terrible. How the hell did they beat us?
October 26th, 2013 at 9:57 PM ^
2. And even less chance against OSU in B1G closer, even if is at home. Even sorrier to admit that, but don't know how could continue to think o/e
3. Hockey got beat too, spoiling some cool vibe that had been building there
4. And wings just finished blowing 2-1 lead to start 3rd , gained in last minute of 2nd, which supposed to bode well.
5. I HATE having to hope the links save the weekend! (Slight exagg: mGoHockey had avg to Ok weekend, tho even MSU just beat BU...)
October 26th, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
And lions, not links!
Siri, you idiot!!

That we have much of a chance. " Thats is quite possibly the most asinine comment I think I have ever read on here.
