Chesson, Dileo, Funchess, Gallon; we can cobble together a decent passing attack from that, We can also bring in a game-ready true freshman, I'm thinking DaMario Jones.

This feels like a recurring theme of late. We lose Jake Ryan, Countess, Fitz, and now Darboh to injury. And these were all guys at positions where we needed someone to step up and make plays.

Get better soon, Darboh.

I has a sad.

However, how many catches was a guy who hasn't caught a pass yet going to make this year, 30?

He gets his redshirt, and will have 3 years with Chesson and 2 of them with Shane Morris throwing to him.

The other benefit - more passes to go around to the others: Chesson, Dileo, Gallon and NORFLEET! No one has mentioned NORFLEET!

I feel like we've had a lot of injuries this spring and fall.  Not necessarily season-ending as is this case, just cumulative injuries.  Perhaps I'm still stuck in 2011 where we couldn't afford injuries and really didn't ever get them.

Man, I was liking our depth at receiver even with alot of question marks. Now with this injury, I'm just kind of "meh" but I still think we'll be ok.

I still think with or without Darboh I'd like to see alot of receptions from the TE position. I think we have alot of advantages there.

This is what I was thinking when I read about Darboh's injury.

Just the other day Seth filed a report titled "Fifty Shades of Shea" (here) that spoke to using FBs and TEs.  Not deep vertical, but yardage is yardage and first downs are the key.

well hopefully that great catch chesson had this weekend in the scrimage wasn't the exception, and thats how he is playing every day.

But I forsee alot of 2 WR Ace formations in our future.  Darboh wasn counted on to step up, but its not like there is Air behind him, or we have no other options.

The only way to remedy this catastrophic situation is to move Devin Gardner back to WR and put Shane in as the starting QB.

Never wish for a kid to get injured and I was looking forward to seeing Darboah play just as much as everyone else. But... At least it's not Gallon, Dileo, Funchess, Lewan, Devin, Fitzgerald or any other number of proven commodities. I've heard just as much hype from Chesson as Darboah and we also have a senior Reynolds that seems to be putting it together. Our passing game is going to be much better this season. If michigan can afford to lose a guy at a position this year, it's wide receiver. Darboah will redshirt and get that extra year we all wanted from him. Breathe in, breathe out. It's going to be a great season.

seems to throw Joe Reynolds out being a walk on but I thought he looks really good and physical. maybe this is why they've been talking up Chesson. maybe a freshmen steps up to. don't forget we're loaded at TE, not the end of the world.

I didn't really have a point other than we haven't had a good outside receiver.  Hemingway was okay, but he wasn't anywhere close to stellar.  It's not like Darboh was going to be Braylon Edwards this year anyway.

I don't want to dig to find the post, but one user talked about just letting go of all the hubbub and nonsense leading up to the opener and just waiting to see what actually happens on the field.

This is one of those times where it's best to do just that. Credit that poster for taking that paradigm.

The bright side, at least for me, is that maybe my 86 jersey will once again be apropos.

I think this injury puts more pressure on the running game. I think Fitz is on a mission this year and I believe the oline will be much better than last year.

This offense can be scary good if the run game is working. I guess you can say that about any offense, but you guys know what I mean. Sure losing Darboh hurts, but it could be worse. Lets see what happens in 10 days!

In 2015 our WR Corps will look like this:

RS JR's - Darboh & Chesson

So - Drake Harris

Fr - George Campbell

Well that won't suck...

...ut damn, was looking forward to seeing him play this year.  Feel bad for the kid as he's worked hard and earned the right to play.

In my psuedo-panic of "who can step up?", I almost forgot about Funchess and what he brings to the table as a pass catcher.  So, "nothing is fucked, you're being very undude..."

As always lets not put cart before horse.  Of course we all think Harris and Campbell will be studs but who knows.  Also we have never seen what Chesson or Daborah can do.  Further any number of the 2013 or 2014 freshman (ex Drake Harris) glossed over could become the next #1.  The positive is we have two waves of 3 WRs coming in and will be very deep for the first time in a long time.  Who knows which will be the star(s).

We'll be fine. We already have two potentially elite pass-catchers in Gallon and Funchess.  This is crappy news for sure, but the freak out is a little much for a guy who has never made a reception in college.
