Corrected, thanks.
Given that the conventional wisdom seemed to suggest UM was gaining ground but still trailing OSU, not getting the opportunity to have another shot with him on campus doesn't sound good for us.
Maybe it's because he has already committed to Michigan and Brady Hoke has the no visit policy?
has he visited Michigan at all ? If not than he ain't coming here.
I believe the last time he was at Michigan was in early April.
I'll conclude nothing from this news... he's visited recently so unless he says otherwise, we're not out.
I agree. He may very well pick OSU, but I don't think this news is conclusive in any way.
Weird I guess. I seen a blurb somewhere that OSU offered another OL and the pro Michigan rumor was they (OSU) may not feel solid on Jones, FWIW.
Well, if you seen it, then it must is true.
I did, but I didn't want to be racist against the mulleted.
mullet-ist?
Did you see his avatar? He's in character.
to tweet at him and wish him good luck/happy trails/pray for him when he commits to OSU.
Seriously though, don't tweet at him when he commits to OSU....
Don't tweet at recruits AT ALL!!!!
don't tweet recruits ever. Ever ever ever
Ever
He must have seen the latest 4 year APR averages. Arrrggghhh!
Let me be the first to state for the record that yes, we wanted him. That does not change if he does not pick us. It won't be because "it's not a good match" or "we lost interest" or he "can't handle our level of intensity" or "he's afraid to compete" or any of the other lame-ass things you will read on 11 Warriors.
If he picks Ohio State, then they won and we lost on a good recruit. No sour buckeyes, er, grapes for us.
Is it sour grapes to say that we recruited an insane amount of O linemen the last two years and Ohio State did not, and while it is pure speculation, one could reasonably conclude that this probably had an impact on him?
/11warriord
are SO 2013.
I believe it was on 24/7 a few days ago that the visits were to be Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State again, with the Michigan and Michigan State visits coming this weekend, but I could be misremembering this. In any case, it would mean that Notre Dame is out of it perhaps, but we'll know for sure on June 27th at 1 PM, which I believe was when Jones is supposed to announce (at least for the time being).
Yeah, Notre Dame is already out of it. It's U of M, MSU, or OSU.
So what you're saying is, it's U of M or OSU.
is it's M.
I long for the days of yore.
Sam Webb still says, and has repeatedly said, that we are in good shape for Jamarco. I trust his opinion more than any other recruiting insider. I think this one goes our way.
Not as gung-ho about our chances as you are, but I agree that he's far from an OSU lock. Not quite sure why everyone is assuming he is.
According to Sam, OSU may have been the early leader because Jamarco saw how many lineman we've taken in the last couple classes. But the coaches have apparently done a pretty good job convincing him that most of those guys are guards, and Jamarco is a tackle. I find that convincing, coming from Sam anyways.
Wierd, because from what I've heard he would fit really well as a guard in an offense like Michigan's.
Somewhat unexpectedly, we yoinked
- Winovich from Pitt/Ohio
-
Drake Harris from MSU
and - Lawrence Marshall from MSU
As far as I recall, we never felt that confident we led for those guys until they committed. I'd keep my ear open, as it wouldn't be shocking to start hearing rumors that Michigan may lead or be much closer than anyone expects
Marshall was originally committed to Ohio.
This a kid that we want, and I wish him the best no matter where he goes.
Jamarco was going to take four final visits to Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, and didn't take any of them, or did he make it only to Ohio State?
If he made the visit to Ohio State, I understand the concern, but if not, I feel we're in no worse of a place. He was talking pretty highly of Michigan over the last couple weeks, and didn't seem like the Ohio State-lean many believe he is.
He was supposed to visit Michigan, MSU, and OSU this coming weekend. AFAIK, the last campus he visited was Michigan's back in April. So if we're just going by the most recent visit, Michigan's the pick. Obviously, that doesn't always tell the whole story, though.
Tremendous tweeted out that Jones visited Michigan on 4/4, MSU on 4/5 and hasn't been to OSU since 2/10.
