Semi-OT: MGoBlog Site Theme/Banner - Who/What's next after Denard?
I for one, will always reflect fondly on the Denard years - and seeing #16 prominently displayed in the Banner of the MGoBlog site is always welcoming.
But what's next for the site for Team 134? Gardner pose? Jake Ryan sack attack? Taylor Lewan pancaking an opponent?
Maybe a vote is in order?
If possible, in GIF mode.
What is this, Geocities?
Not sure if Dr. Hamlet, III is available for anymore photos...rumors abound he became a McRib sandwich.
then, technically, he'd be a part of the team, at least several members of it. When Lewan staves off a defender from sacking Gardner this year, I'd like to think it was the Dr. Hamlet in him that gave him the edge.
i say it should be Taylor Lewan. that Frank Clark hit always reminds me of how we lost that close game. putting it on that banner would just be a tease
I vote for Gardner dopped back with Lewan prominently in the background holding some poor soul at bay.
(surely a photo like this exists?!)
might be a better one out there, but found this quickly and liked it:
Almost exactly what I had in mind!
I thought this photo looked familiar - I used it to make some iPhone wallpapers/t-shirts a while back.
I actually think a banner with these simplified images / drawings instead of actual photos would look really cool. Maybe a basketball one as well? Or a couple of prominent football players and maybe one of Hoke (though this format would make it difficult to make a helmet-less person).
I actually made two versions of Hoke pointing in this style ... firstly, there's the Epic Double Point:
... and then a full body point:
... which I combined with my favorite football players to use as my desktop background (click to embiggen?)
There must be one from the many times Lewan held off Clowney
You shall not pass!
with a thought balloon over Brady's head showing a BLT.
An image of Brian spooning with Jake Ryan.
Enough said...
Their "flows" together are somewhat magical.
And creepy.
injury/recovery. He looks soft and somewhat feminine. Are they sure he will be ready by October?
That is just unbelievably disturbing.
and that the idea of him playing in October was no pipe dream at all. This confidential photo puts the lie to that. He's lost a tremendous amount of muscle mass.
You know what that means....
Well done but if I had to nitpick Jake would be the back spoon.
in the truck, with the glasses.
I propose a picture of Taylor Lewan and Doctor Hamlet III riding on the twosie. In the background, have Brendan Gibbons with his arms around a bunch of brunette girls, while Kenny Demens tackles Pat Fitzgerald as he hops and down on the sideline and pumps his fists in the air.
somebody needs to persuade LSU Freek to GIF it.
In all seriousness I think a collage of Alan Branch-waltzing-away-from-his-prey photo-shops would be awesome.
No Trey Burke? He's the biggest star Michigan has had in a decade. I think he deserves the banner until football starts.
I can't help feeling like decorating this place with basketball stuff would make it feel too much like some ACC blog. I know we love our bball here, but football is our evolutionary history - it's tied more closely to how we got here, not just who we are now.
Ugh, I'm having a hard time even agreeing with what I just wrote, because Michigan basketball has had a pretty great history too. Ok fine maybe I don't have any good logic, the basketball banner just seems odd to me somehow.
If ever there were a separate OT board. This should be the mini banner above it
although maybe the shot against kansas before the season starts.
I realize football is why most of us visit this website but I was stunned a Final Four run with some great plays by Burke didn't warrant his picture up there for at least a short period of time.
I don't know what's next, but maybe THE_KNOWLEDGE can tell us.
but Mitch McGary maybe?
